Philip began as a deacon, which means he was already
recognized for spiritual maturity, and became an
evangelist. Maturity equipped him to serve and serving equipped him for specific
ministry.
If people are not serving and have no desire to serve, it is
because they are not maturing.
Think: Babies don’t have babies. Adults have babies.

CONCLUSION:The pastor/teacher is to perfect
the saints for the work of the ministry. The perfecting involves
two things:Leading: a consistent principle & pattern
Feeding: warning of the false & teaching the truth
