Be Prepared- Create Defensible Space
San Diego has experienced record-breakingrainfall over the last year. Unfortunately,much of the grass that has sprout up fromthe rain has already dried out and poses avery large fire hazard. San Diego County,state and local fire officials are advisingresidents to obey the law and create 100 feetof defensible space for the safety of theirhomes and for firefighters.
Defensible space is 30 feet of lean, cleanand green zone and 70 feet of reduced fuelzone. Learn how to create defensible spacearound your home, and prepare for wildfireswith CAL FIRE'S 'Ready for Wildfire' app.Download the app for access to checklists,wildfire alerts and fire incident pages.
