We were very lucky to have Brett Fisher visit our studio last week. We loved Bretts classes - he was like a breath of fresh air - loved the energy he brought to the studio. Brett is a graduate of the Musical Theatre Course directed by Andrew Hallsworth at Patrick Studios Australia. Brett has featured in many corporate events and shows in many Melbourne venues as well as dancing and singing at the Rob Guest Endowment with Christie Whelan-Browne and Twisted Broadway with Tim Campbell in 2012. In 2013, Brett was a Dancer in Michael Ralph's debut production “Now & Then”, a dancer for “Grease The Musical” Promotional Tour launch, performed in Looney Tunes Live: Classroom Capers (Jim The Host) at the Royal Melbourne Show, The Wild Party (Burrs) directed by Andrew Hallsworth, was Associate Choreographer for Godspell as part of the Stephen Schwartz Triptych by Magnormos Productions and then went on to Direct Namaste The Cabaret written and performed by Adam Porter. In 2014 Brett performed in Lifelike Touring’s production of Peppa Pig Live: Treasure Hunt (George Pig/Pedro Pony) which toured Australia and New Zealand. In 2015 he directed “The Gathering” as part of MUDfest, and was also in a sellout season of Avenue Q (Bad Idea Bear/Ensemble) as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He also wrote and starred in his own cabaret 'What’s He Building In There?' which he performed at Chapel off Chapel as part of The Cabaret Showcases. In 2016 Brett made his professional music theatre debut playing the title role of 'The Fiddler' in Fiddler On The Roof, and performed in Curtains (ensemble) with The Production Company.

We invite dancers 7 years and over to apply for a scholarship in their chosen dance style. At Dancemakers we strongly encourage diversity in our versatile dancers, but understand that this is not always affordable. We are in the position to present three students with scholarships for

the remainder of the year.

Applications close on Saturday 1st of April – with successful applicants notified the following week to commence scholarship class in term two.

How to apply: Applications are to be EMAILED to [email protected] . Be creative with your

application – but they must be sent electronically – email or Facebook okay too.

Who is eligible to apply?

Students 7 years and over currently enrolled in at least one class at Dancemakers. The scholarship application must be for an EXTRA class.

Conditions: • Students must be over 7 years old. • Students must be exclusive to Dancemakers (not attending any other dance schools for classes that we offer). • Parents must be supportive of application and aware of the time of class that the student is applying for. • Successful applicants must uphold an 80% attendance rate for their classes. • Successful applicants must be positive representatives of Dancemakers. Understanding our core values and our expectations (see Dancemakers Handbook). • Applicants may be asked to attend an interview or to elaborate on their application. • There will be five teachers sifting through applicants – making the decision fair.

Please help your child understand that we receive a load of applications – and only three scholarships are available. It is a difficult process.

Looking forward to receiving your applications,
