International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women observed on November 25th
Theme
The 2019 theme for the International Day for the Elimination
of Violence Against Women is Orange the World:
Generation Equality Stands Against Rape.
History of Day
The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against
Women issued by the UN General Assembly in 1993
defines violence against women.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the National Tribal
Craft Mela - 2019 The Handicraft items, handloom products, iron, bamboo
products, exhibition, lacquer craft, along with tribal jewelry,
craft, and textiles, will be displayed by artisans during this
seven-day-long event.
Objective
The main objective of the Mela is to preserve, promote
and popularise traditional tribal art and craft.

Lakshya win4th title of the season won Scottish open
Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen won his fourth title in three
months bagging the Scottish Open title.Indian
overcame the Brazilian opponent 18-21, 21-18, 21-19,
in a 56-minute final.

Lakshya joined fellow Indians Anand Pawar (2010
and 2012), Arvind Bhatt (2004), and Pullela Gopichand (1999) in winning the Scottish Open
title. Indian kept breathing down his opponent's neck, but Coelho ensured he had the bragging
rights after the opening game.
Sangai Festival 2019 begins in Manipur
Manipur Sangai Festival 2019 started. The Festival is organized by the State Tourism
Department and the most significant Festival held
annually to promote tourism. The Festival will
conclude on the 30th of this month.
Sangai Festival
It is an annual cultural festival organized by Manipur
Tourism Department every year from 21 to 30
November. This Festival celebrated over the past few
years with the name of the Tourism Festival since 2010
renamed as the Sangai Festival to stage the uniqueness of the shy and gentle brow-antlered deer
popularly known as the Sangai.
