History

•Created from cultural data captured during production of the 1:25 000 Accelerated Topographic Mapping Program 1974 - 1992.

•Data was migrated into a GIS environment 1996.

•Subsequent data improvement programs were ad hoc and opportunistic.

•Similar and duplicate datasets exist for the same purpose

eg. 000 CPN and ES Points (Single User Requirement)

• 2007 Features of Interest consultancy recommended:

Improve / upgrade data quality and supply

Modify / upgrade the data model to adopt a “services” structure

Appoint a Vicmap Features custodial officer with sole responsibility for the product.
