David Game College Group

Welcome from the Founder

In 1974, I set up a small private tutorial college in London, to fill a growing niche in the market. This soon led to the acquisition of Westminster Tutors in South Kensington, which is still active in its original premises on the Old Brompton Road. I then opened David Game College in Notting Hill, allowing us to offer a more comprehensive range of subjects and attracting more international students to study in this large campus in a fashionable area of London. 40 years on, we are now the largest independent college group in the UK, not tied to a profit-driven corporation or external capital investment.

Over time, we have built up a great diversity of partnerships across the UK and beyond. This has been achieved through recognising, developing and rewarding talent. I never overlook an opportunity to work on an interesting project with a like-minded partner.

Please take the time to look through our range of colleges and projects here. Contact details can be found on the website of each institution featured. We look forward to hearing from you, whether you are a teacher, a student, a parent or a fellow institution.

Yours, David Game Principal - MA (Oxon), MPhil (Lond)

IELTS results dependent on the choice of degree. If a student does not obtain that grade we may ask them to come for our

pre-sessional English Course to improve their English.

We prepare our students for the IGCSE examination in most subjects, because we believe that the IGCSE is a better

preparation for the future AS and A level study, being more rigorous and more traditionally academic than the GCSE.

About Us Established in 1989, the UFP was the UK’s first independent foundation programme and continues to be recognised today as one of the leading foundation courses in the country.

The UFP is equivalent to GCE A Levels and the International Baccalaureate (IB); it allows you to enter UK University if you are a EU or International student who has completed secondary school outside the UK.

You can join the UFP in January or September and study in either London or Bath. Choose between a variety of pathways allowing entry to almost all undergraduate degree courses.

The Extended Foundation allows academically

weaker students to benefit from having a four terms

of study as opposed to the traditional three. This

extra term provides students with the opportunity to

improve their Mathematics, IT and English skills,

introducing them to basic subject and topic materi-

als necessary to succeed. The UFPe runs from July –

June and September – August. Both allow students

to start university the following academic year. The College

Based on 2014 figures.

Students take 6 modules over the duration of the course; 3 minor and 3 major. The 3 minor modules, Core

Mathematics, ICT and English, are compulsory for all students and are completed over the first term. The 3 major

modules are related to the degree of study and are undertaken in the second and third terms. Under the IGCSE,

O Levels, or WAEC High School qualification system, we ask that students have a minimum of 5 A – C grades

including Mathematics and English. Additional grades for particular subjects may be requested dependent on the

choice of degree. Students wishing to study Art and Design, Architecture or Interior Design will be asked to show

samples of their portfolio.

**International Studies - this is a world development programme which includes Geography and Humanities.

The University Foundation Programme (UFP) is a one-year course designed specifically for international

applicants and prepares students for the demands of undergraduate study at university. The UFP offers an

alternative to A Level study. However, students should be confident when they apply that they know which

career route they wish to follow at university. Bosworth has a strong Foundation programme that is widely

recognised by UK universities and it includes English language tuition alongside the chosen area of study.

Very often international students who have completed their Senior High School education programme are

required to do a foundation year in order to gain access to a degree programme of their choice. The course

will develop students’ language skills and provide knowledge in specific academic subject areas. It is therefore

an ideal course for students who are slightly older and prefer a one-year option rather than a two-year A Level

course.

Course Content

The programme provides twenty five lessons a week of directed study, as well as supervised study periods

and optional enrichment classes. Students will study six subject areas in total. Three of these subject areas

are compulsory, plus three electives are chosen based on the students’ career route. The electives course

content is based on A Level specification. The core modules provide a fundamental background to academic

work at university level, ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary communication, numerical

and analytical skills.
