Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Hyde Park, …).

Afternoon: Oxford Street or Regent Street (go see Hamleys) to Piccadilly. You can also walk from Trafalgar Square down Whitehall to the Houses of Parliament and catch a glimpse of number 10 Downing Street. We’re off to London! If you’re travelling to London with your students soon, here are some suggestions

of places to visit and things to do while you’re there.

Day two – Take a closer look…

Morning: Take a ride on the London Eye. You can get good pictures of the whole city from the top. Have a cruise on the Thames: leave from the Embankment and sail past the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Take a tour of the Tower. You can have lunch nearby (there are some food trucks there and you could try traditional fish and chips…).

Afternoon: Cross the bridge to the south bank and walk back west. There are some interesting sights: the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern. Cross the Millennium Bridge and make a stop at St Paul’s. Walk down Fleet Street and Aldwych to the Strand and Trafalgar Square. The National Gallery is free and worth a visit. On the way, visit Temple Church and discover the mysteries of the Da Vinci Code.

Evening: Why not have dinner in Chinatown?

Day three – London, city of culture

Morning: Head to Kensington and the Victorian Museums. You can choose from the Natural History Museum (anthropology, geology and the history of earth and the human species), The Science Museum (scientific and technologic achievement through the centuries) or the Victoria and Albert Museum (decorative arts, artefacts of daily life). You can have lunch on the wonderful lawns in front of The Natural History Museum.

Afternoon: Walk across Hyde Park to Marylebone Road and visit Madam Tussaud’s for a guaranteed afternoon of fun. Make a pit stop at Baker Street on the way back.

Night: Back to Central London for dinner and a taste of the city’s cheerful mood!

Day four – A different London

Morning: Take the tube or a bus to Camden Market and spend the morning browsing around the stalls: there’s something for everyone. For lunch, try one of the many international food stalls there: Chinese, Indian, Thai or Italian, to name a few.

Afternoon: For yet a different experience, why not take a tour of Chelsea Stadium? You can go back to Central London by boat: head to the Chelsea Pier and take a regular boat down the river to the Embankment.

Day five – It’s hard to say goodbye…

Last day!If you still have time in the morning, why not go to Buckingham Palace and watch

the Changing of the Guard? Or go up to Bloomsbury and visit The British Museum with all its history and art?

Finally: Check out, transfer and take off!
