President’s Message – Sharon Hooper

As the magic of Christmas fills the air, it is a time to reflect on the past year. You can be so proud of the work that TWC has done. It is close to report writing time and all of our

accomplishments will be written down. It always amazes me at the amount of projects we are involved with and the amount of monies donated, bringing joy and happiness to so many.

TWC ROCKS!! You are truly fantastic. Big “THANK YOU’S” to everyone that has stepped up to “Be All You Can Be”. It shows!

We will tackle the By-Laws at the January business meeting. Be mulling over the two year election part and any others you feel might need discussing. Also, is anyone interested in

helping to staff the collected items? Remember the date changes for the meetings that fall on Christmas and New Year. Merry Christmas to everyone. Sharon

First Vice President – Anita Dinicola

I want to take this space to wish all our members “Happy Holiday’s”, whether it be Christmas, Hanukah or something else, this is the time of year to love and nurture family, friends & relationships ~ to give thanks for our blessings.

In the Club it is also a busy time, there are reports to write and make the TWC shine. We need

those numbers on paper. It's how we count the amount of time spent doing the wonderful volunteering that TWC is noted for. If you don't have forms there is one at end of the newsletter.

The time you leave home, time spent there, what you did and the time it took you to get back home. Don't forget any money you spent is called "in kind."

Remember coming events for the following contests: ~ Photo , Writing , Art & Crafts. See

calendar in back of Newsletter for dates. More information will be given at the next meeting

Keep track of your time when you write, sew, knit & crochet. The time it takes to enter these various contests it is part of our reports too.

I would like all the Chairman of committees to please give me a short summary of their Committee Meetings, time at the meetings, and fill in the information on the form that is

electronically attached to this newsletter. PLEASE hand it in at the Dec 4th, General Meeting

(to me - Anita). Thank You for all the work you do/did for Ways & Means, Helping Hands, Game Day, Trips, Education and Programs, etc.

I applaud you all. More is better than less on these forms.

I am thankful for the Friends I have in TWC. What are you thankful for ??? Anita Dinicola

Fashion Show - Barbara Freeman

Reminder: Continue to bring in your $5 or $10 gift cards for the Fashion Show on March 15, 2014.

TWC Membership – Beverly Greeno

Happiness thought for December: Hug more, kiss more, touch more. These actions take no

extra time or energy; no money or mistletoe, but they make a big difference.

As I write this message for December newsletter, Thanksgiving is the focal point of Holiday Season. Have you thanked someone today? Bring out those favorite recipes and “make it merry” with a new memory or make a happy memory with your kids, your grandchildren, a friend or a neighbor.

Will you be ready for Dec 25th? (I’m waiting for Santa’s 2013 definition of GOOD) !! ?? If you feel overbooked, loosen up your schedule so you can enjoy the season without being rushed. Ring in the New Year rested and refreshed. December: Friday, the 13th: Make it a perfect day to tell a few friends how LUCKY you are to have them. Wed, Nov 6th I asked for the magic number, remember? Yes, the answer was 5, meaning we had five new TWC members for the month. Joining us were June Baker, Karen Peters, Susan Rice, Hope Rhodes and Karen Stubbs. Welcome ladies!! And, during the meeting, membership applications were circulated to interested guests. Yes, Alice Honda and Mary Wilkinson are members to be introduced during Dec 4th meeting. Yes, you’ll have an opportunity to say “Hello”, and offer your friendship to them. December 2013, Year End the magic number is eleven. Yes, 11 TWC members (June – Nov): Jun: Terry Helmy, Connie Vassie and Julie Citroen Sept: Irene Brooks; Oct: Hope Rhodes, Karen Stubbs Nov: Susan Rice, Karen Peters, June Baker, Alice Honda and Mary Wilkerson.

June Baker Hope Rhodes Karen Peters Suzie Rice Connie Vassie Alice Honda We ladies of TWC aren’t professional sportswomen “Going for the Gold” - - We’re TWC ladies who “Go for Members”! ‘Tis a promising future. May the remaining days of 2013 be joyful and happy for all of you. May the time together, family/friends, be the finest gift we can ever give. Warm wishes to you and yours. Beverly Greeno

“Want” Ads in our Newsletter???

I am TRYING something new for your Newsletter: WANT ADS These want ads would be along the line of: Needing boxes for a craft project, need to borrow a high chair or roll away for guests coming or you want someone to join you on a vacation. These are just examples. No “For Sale”

items, use Daily Breeze Treasure Hunt for those. I MUST have these requests via email ([email protected]) or on a handwritten note from you.

NO PHONE CALLS NO PHONE CALLS NO PHONE CALLS I would like to try this for two months to see how it goes and what kind of response I get.

“Soles 4 Souls” Shoe Drive I recently found about a organization that is called “Soles for Souls”. This organization collects used shoes, in good or bad condition and even a single unmatched shoes. They take men and women’s, teens, kids, babies, boots and distribute them to needy people all over the world. Last month, shoes were sent to the Philippines, to the people who have lost everything in the storm. Bring your shoes to the January Rummage Sale, all shoes that are not sold will be donated to “Soles 4 Souls”. If they are not used there they are not just thrown away, they will be recycled.
