He said the interim D n r w in Reconstruction Commission would begin planning a new city - it would not be carrying out a. patch up program on the present cyclone devastated city.
He said it had to be realised that the Commission faced a. task of mammoth proportions
that involved very large sums of money.
The commission would hold its first meeting next Monday under the chairmanship of Sir Leslie Thiess.

Airlines resume flights
The two major airlines, Ansett and T AA have resumed normal air services into Darwin.
Spokesmen for both airlines said yesterday filghts were heavily booked.
About four flights operate from Sydney into Darwin each day.
Intending passengers now need entry permits, obtainable from the Commonwealth Employment Service offices.
