TO THE STATE DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURETHE HONORABLE BOARD OF SUPERVISoreTHE CHIEF ADMI:NISTRATIVE OFFICER
Gentlemen:
We herein present Stanislaus County's Agricultural Crop Reportfor 1965. This is the first time for several years that the income forfarm crops has shown a decline. This 1'Tas approximately a two milliondollar decline from the previous 1964 income.
It will be noted in reading this report that there was a largedrop in the peach and grape incomes. Livestock, dairying and poultryincreased and this offset some of the losses. A serious loss to thisgroup of farmers was an approximate twenty percent in the peach incomedue to bad weather conditions during harvest.
Again we want to remind you that these are gross figures and donot represent the net income to the farmers.
We wish to thank all of the irrigation districts, business firmsand individuals who cooperated with us by furnishing information whichmade the compilation of this report possible. We also thank the mem-bers of the Agricultural Extension Staff ~~d the Agricultural Commis-sioner:.'s Staff.
Respectfully submitted,
L da."\..o: 'ARl'm.r V. SARQUIS r"'~~Stanislaus CountyDirector of Extension
