Where/ who will you approach for these opportunities (companies/ clients/ competitions etc.)?

At the Design Museum they believe that without better design, better use of scarce resources, and more innovation, the future won’t work. They see design as an integral part of every aspect of life: a way to un-derstand the world around us, and to make it a better place to live.

Their vision is to advance our knowl-edge of the natural world, inspiring better care of our planet.Their mission is to maintain and develop the collections, and use them to promote the discovery, understanding, respon-sible use and enjoyment of the natural world.

The Victoria and Albert Museum (often ab-breviated as the V&A), is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, hous-ing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. How will you achieve all of the above? What are the action steps to take?

All the companies that I would be interested in doing a placement with accept interns for different lengths of time, which can allow me to choose for one 10 week or two 5 week placements. All are directly contactable online, where I will need to provide covering letters and a CV/ portfolio.

When will you achieve all of the above? Actions and deadlines timeplan.

22 Oct-6 Nov: Research into the companies work to plan my portfolio contents into a tool for easy access. Write covering letters based on the com-panies being applied for. Start collecting content for the proposal and experiment with formats.

7 Nov- 20 Nov: Improve portfolio to start sending off applications to allow for time and designing the proposal based on format that was explored.

21 Nov - 6 Dec- Finishing off the design and sending off for print. Checking the status of applications.

Existing portfolio review

My existing portfolio received a good grade in the final year of FDA, but was said to be a bit big being A2 in size. I have an accessible website that I can create into an online tool to send to these companies. My personal brand is quite bold and dark in terms of layout with lots of imagery. I will transform my existing website into an exciting online space using lighter colours.
