DesignBUILD is Australia’s only true business-to-business event for the building and construction industry, where leading suppliers come face-to-face with an audience made up entirely of ‘industry decision makers’ who are seeking products to specify in their next project. The expo showcases building materials and utilities for commercial and residential projects, along with the tools and equipment used by onsite professionals.

DesignBUILD is visited by a range of qualified industry professionals engaged in the planning, design, construction and the post-building management stages of current projects. With average visitation in excess of 8,500 (nearly double the trade visitors to similar events) and an impressive 25 year history, DesignBUILD is the leading exhibition for building and construction in Australia.

Following a hugely successful sydney 2011 show, DesignBUILD will return to melbourne in 2012 looking to build on these successes with a revived marketing campaign, updated features and new business matching programs.

Building permit activity in Victoria rose 2% during the 2010/11 financial year with 112,412 building permits issued. This follows an increase of 6.5% on 2009/2010, indicating that Victoria is well and truly on the rebound from the ill effects of the Global Financial Crisis.

The value of building permit activity in Victoria was $24.3 billion

Building permits issued rose in every sector except for domestic housing (steady) and public buildings (decrease)

Growth sectors were residential (70%), commercial (3%), retail (18%) and industrial (10%)

Regions with the greatest growth were Metropolitan Melbourne (6%) and Inner Melbourne (12%)

tOOL DemO stAtIOnsA massive response to live demonstrations from Milwaukee, Panasonic, Dewalt, Powers, Einhell and Festool in 2011, has seen DesignBUILD partner with Construction Supply Specialists in 2012 to bring these leading suppliers on board once again.

Satellite demo stations will also be available to any tool or equipment supplier wanting to conduct live hands-on demonstrations.

InnOVAtIOn ALLeyLocated at the entrance to the exhibition, this space showcases the top 40 innovative and new products from within the show, the logical starting place for visitors and a powerful second footprint for companies involved. In 2012, companies will be given the opportunity to make their display interactive, allowing visitors to see the latest LED lights turn on and off, feel the texture of laminates and hear recorded case studies accompanying a display.

green BUILDIng ZOneThe centre piece of the exhibition, this area showcases those technologies that represent the future in sustainable design. From solar panels and insulation to the latest water saving devices and urban landscaping techniques.

This feature is open to any exhibitor with new, innovative or sustainable products at the show, with interviews available on the hipages website following the show and also available for exhibitors to embed in their own site.

VIp VIsItOr prOgrAmThis program will deliver key decision makers from the top 50 construction, architectural and contracting companies to the exhibition. A number of high level business-to-business meeting opportunities are available to assist in taking your business to the next level. Exhibiting companies are invited to provide input on particular organisations of interest who will be invited to the show with a personal phone call and invitation. They will also receive special treatment onsite.

semInAr serIesContinual professional development is an ongoing priority industry practitioner. The DesignBUILD seminar series presents leading industry figures to discuss front-of-mind subjects with CPD points offered to both Builders and Architects.

In 2012, DesignBUILD will work closely with the Victorian Building Commission along with relevant association partners to develop cutting-edge content and deliver a range of high-profile speakers.

We have exhibited at DesignBUILD for many years and 2011 has been our most successful show for some time.
