Digital India is an initiative by the Government of India to ensure that Government services are made available to citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity. It was launched on July 1, 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. [1] The initiative includes plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. Digital India has three core components. These include: [2] The creation of digital infrastructure Delivering services digitally Digital literacy A two-way platform will be created where both the service providers and the consumers stand to benefit. The scheme will be monitored and controlled by the Digital India Advisory group which will be chaired by the Ministry of Communications and IT. [citation needed] It will be an inter- Ministerial initiative where all ministries and departments shall offer their own services to the public Healthcare, Education, Judicial services etc. The Public–private partnership model shall be adopted selectively. [citation needed] In addition, there are plans to restructure the National Informatics Centre. This project is one among the top priority projects of the Modi Administration. Project Broadband in 2.5 lakh villages, universal phone connectivity, Net Zero Imports by 2020, 400,000 Public Internet Access Points, Wi-fi in 2.5 lakh schools, all universities; Public wi-fi hotspots for citizens, Digital Inclusion: 1.7 Cr trained for IT, Telecom and Electronics Jobs Job creation: Direct 1.7 Cr. and Indirect at least 8.5 Cr. [ citation needed ] e- Governance & eServices: Across government India to be leader in IT use in services – health, education, banking Digitally empowered citizens – public cloud, internet access. The Government of India entity Bharat Broadband Network Limited which executes the National Optical Fibre Network project will be the custodian of Digital India (DI) project. [ citation needed ] BBNL had ordered United Telecoms Limited to connect 250,000 villages through GPON to ensure FTTH based broadband. It is rightly said that “Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or the faster person but, sooner or

later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can”.

This quote is absolutely true in the case of the Modi Government, which has revolutionized the way of

thinking deep into technologies and related advancements.

The mission of Digitization concept in India has begun with the sincere and appreciated efforts of the

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This initiative was flagged of today at an event comprising

government officials as well as renowned industry.

The ultimate goal of this program is to make all citizens digitally literate and introduce internet and the

Phenomenon of E-governance to all the sections of the society to make India digital.

The additions to this initiative is the concept of Mobile governance, which is soon going to be a reality.

The era of digitization has arrived in India in almost all the fields of work that caters to the needs and

aspirations of the people of India, especially the Youth.

The Prime Minister assured help to the Young startups of India by saying that, India can really make

quality electronic goods that are really competitive at a global level.

The talent of the youth of India is very crucial in the case of digital initiative that clearly focusses on

designing the India as a new and developed digital platform of the world.

The total investment drawn by this initiative is around Rs. 4.5lakh crore and will create almost 18 lakh

jobs.

The vision of Digital India Program also includes the inclusive growth in the areas of electronic

services, manufacturing sector and job opportunities etc.

The vision also highlights the era of digital learning that clearly explains the Smart way of learning in

India for the youth as well as experienced people in India.

The concept of webinars, digital learning or e-learning, online classes have revolutionized the way of

learning and has shifted from the traditional learning methods to the new and advanced methods

involving technical expertise and digital platforms.

The main highlights of digital learning involve:

1. Learning through Smart classes in the local languages that makes easy and affordable learning for

the people who have no knowledge of the subject matter.

2. Making learning easier through live webinars

3. Revolutionizing the teaching methods by using Instructor lead online learning.

4. Making India a full-fledged internet country in the near future.

5. Making the way of learning more easy and affordable with a user friendly interfaces.

Some of the major inclusions of the Digital India Initiative by the Narendra Modi government are listed

as follows:

1. in is an initiative by the Government to introduce the concept of involving citizens in the open

discussions regarding corporate governance and related topics to give their meaningful

suggestions for the government systems and procedures.

2. The National Scholarships portal will help provide scholarships to the talented and extra-ordinary

youth by making the process easier and simple to work on.

3. The online registration system (ORS) has been introduced that provides important facilities like

online registration and appointment payments and procedures under the e-hospital scheme.

4. A brilliant progress by BSNL providing the launch of undertaking the large scale deployment of the

Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the nation.

5. The Electronics Development Fund policy basically aims to regulate and promote innovation

throughout the country by creating a dedicated IP for a self-sustaining eco-system of the venture

funds.

These are some of the major highlights of the Digital India Initiative that totally proves to be a boom

for the nation, making India a digital platform in the world.
