It is the governing body responsible for all forms of Volleyball on a global level.
The FIVB promotes Volleyball competitions and development activities for the
enjoyment and entertainment of its spectators and participants, while satisfying
sponsors’ needs.
With 500 Million people playing Volleyball, 33 Million licensed athletes and 220
Member National Federations, the FIVB proudly presents itself as worlds’ largest
international sporting federation.
It aims to develop Volleyball as a major media and
entertainment sport, through world class planning
and organization of competitions, marketing and
promotional activities. The FIVB is part of the
Olympic Movement, contributing to the success of
the Olympic Games.

A Global Calendar
The FIVB World Tour was first organised in 1989 with merely 3
participating countries (Brazil, Japan and Italy).
Two decades later, it has exploded in popularity and features on
average 30 events per year with more than 60
participating countries, 3’000 active athletes
and more than 10 millions in prize money.
The calendar has been extending: it will start in
March and end in December every year.
