Dear Friends and Supporters, Every day, we hear stories of hospital discharge planners, community and charitable clinics, and physician offices that are grappling with the challenges of helping patients obtain durable medical equipment (DME) prescribed by their doctor but for which they do not have the financial resources or medical coverage to obtain. When patients cannot afford needed medical equipment, there are repercussions for individuals and the community. By helping to ensure patients can get the equipment they need, DME Exchange of Dallas serves a unique need in our area. From vision to reality, we are now improving the lives of hundreds of clients each year, making them safer, restoring their independence and often enabling them to lead fuller, productive lives. The demand for our services is endless, and so must our efforts be to meet the needs of our clients. On behalf of the board and staff of DME Exchange, I extend thanks to our donors and volunteers for helping to make 2015 a great success. We count on your continued support in enabling this important work. Dear Friends and Supporters,Every day, we hear stories of hospital discharge planners, community and charitable clinics, and physician offices that are grappling with the challenges of helping patients obtain durable medical equipment (DME) prescribed by their doctor but for which they do not have the financial resources or medical coverage to obtain.

Best regards,

Harnessing the Power of VolunteersWe are grateful for the countless volunteers whose hard work and generous spirit advance the work of DME Exchange. Among those we wish to thank are volunteers from:

• The Church of Latter Day Saints who come each week to sanitize, repair, and restore durable medical equipment as part of their mission work. We are grateful to each and every one of them.

• The American College of Healthcare Executives who scrubbed and sanitized equipment one Saturday. Their efforts put us ahead of schedule by two weeks, enabling us to issue equipment to our clients more quickly.

Thanks to Those Who Make Our Work PossibleThe work of DME Exchange would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals, corporations and foundations. We are grateful to all of those who have supported us during our first years of operations and thank the following 2015 donors.

After recovering from a serious car accident, this generous woman donated her equipment to DME Exchange. Her wheelchair is now enabling an eighty-four year old man to have greater independence.

About DME Exchange of DallasDME Exchange collects gently used medical equipment, refurbishes and sanitizes the equipment and distributes it free of charge to qualified Dallas County residents.

Each year, tons of valuable medical equipment is discarded. We turn those discards into opportunities by recycling:

• Manual and power wheelchairs• Home hospital beds• Air or gel mattresses• Sliding and rolling walkers• Rollators (walkers with seats)• Crutches and canes• Shower chairs• Tub transfer benches• Raised toilet seats• Patient lifts

Ensuring that clients can get the DME they need means fewer emergency room visits, shorter hospital stays, fewer hospital readmissions due to complications or re-injuries, and quicker return to independence and productivity.

2015 AccoladesIn 2015, DME Exchange was:• Chosen as one of only ten beneficiaries for the

2015 Chi Omega Christmas Market• Selected as a finalist for D CEO magazine’s

Achievement in Healthcare Innovation• The only organization addressing county-wide

needs for durable medical equipment• The only organization licensed by the State of

Texas as a medical salvage company
