About the B.C. Learning Centres for Children with Dyslexia
The B.C. Learning Centres for Children with Dyslexia ensures children from financially challenged families have the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence required to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. The key to the uniqueness and success of our program is all tutors are trained without charge and all tutoring is FREE to the children enrolled.
We are seeking a committed individual who understand the needs of the children and their families and can lead the growth of our Learning Centre.

Your Assets (may include):Tutor certification in the Orton-Gillingham ApproachA Certificate in any Early Childhood Education, Education Assistant, Special Education Assistant or any Teacher College programStrong administrative and organization skillsRelationship builder with strong interpersonal and communication skillsAn undergraduate degree, ideally in EducationStrong attention to detail and accuracyA passion for literacy particularly towards those with learning difficulties

Commitment: Approx. 25 hours per month; September to JuneCentre Hours: Monday - Thursday; 2:30pm - 6:30pm

Tutor AdmissionsActively seek new volunteer tutors through development and marketing activitiesInterviewing persons desiring to become a volunteer tutorScheduling and supervision of tutors, including annual performance evaluations
