3. Reports from external and internal liaisons and ad-hoc groups

IEEE 802.22b: During this face-to-face meeting, two technical contributions will be presented. 30th Sep 2012 is the deadline for call for intent, and 28th Oct is the deadline for call for proposal.

Advanced Beaconing Study Group: 5C and PAR are going to be discussed in this face-to-face meeting, and going to be submitted to IEEE at the end of this face-to-face meeting.

3.1 remove part 74 in the title, and remove “other types of ”, change to “other types of service

including type 74 service”

3.2 S-band is added to 5.2 scope. Additional description is added to the scope. “This amendment

provides an interface between the beaconing receiver and existing communication equipment in these

bands to enable efficient spectrum sharing. The amendment …. ”

3.3 Purpose is rewritten. “One of the purposes of this amendment is to provide protection and a

spectrum sharing mechanism for radars and communications equipment operating in the S-band”

Question: Do we have to mention the type of proposal at the deadline of call for intent Or at the deadline

of call for proposal?

Answer: In the call for intent, we don’t need to mention the type of proposal. The proposer just needs to

mention we have proposal to submit.

The chair should send email to remind at least three times before the deadline. Dr. Pyo will send email

to all one week before deadline.

Question: Is the deadline AOE or specific timezone?

Answer: It is anytime on earth.

4. The next item discussed was the presentataion time allocation for each proposal. Dr. Pyo prepared

two options to discuss:

Option A -Total 40 min including Q n A

Option B -Total 60 min including Q n A

Proposer needs to request more than one time allocation. Attendees feel 40 min time slot is better. After

some discussion, option B is removed.

Question: for MAC, it is not easy to show the performance for the proposed concept.

Answer: We have discussed a lot in the selection criteria. We can use the selection criteria and show

performance after that. It is better to show the technical performance evaluation.

Question: what is the document type of the proposal?

Answer: Ideas can be first presented on power-point, then converted to word document later in order to

make the draft.

5. Teleconference plan was then discussed. No teleconference was schedule. If there is any urgent issue,

the chair will arrange a teleconference.

6. Finally Closing Report for a summary of this week’s achievement was shown.
