named Network Library of the Year by the National Library Service for
the Blind and Physically Handicapped, a division of the Library of
Congress. A luncheon was held at the Library of Congress for the
department staff to honor their work promoting independent reading
and learning, innovative use of technology, and good customer
service.
2. Salary Increase for DC Public Library EmployeesIn June Mayor Gray announced a 3% pay increase for city employees,
including DC Public Library staff. Additional 3% increases will go into
effect in FY2015, FY2016, and FY2017. The salary increase
recognizes staff that library employees have gone without a salary
increase for several years. We are hopeful that this will be an incentive
for staff to continue to grow and flourish.
