suffixes that appear in Lines 1-3• For each one, students must find one root
word that has spelling changes as a result of adding the suffix, or one root word that does not have spelling changes.

• Form small groups• Choose a word from Lines 1-3 and give an
antonym for it. • For example, a student could give the antonym
cold for friendly. That student might then choose another student and challenge him or her to come up with an antonym for that word that does not appear on Line 1-3, and so on, until someone cannot come up with another antonym.
