UNIFORM TIPS

From CAPM 39-1, Civil Air Patrol Uniform

Manual, 23 March 2005, pages 41 and 43:2. Flight Cap: Senior members wear smalldouble clutch back senior member capdevice. Cadet NCOs and airmen wear thecadet enlisted double clutch back capdevice. Cadet officers wear miniature orregular size metal grade insignia on theflight cap. Cap will not be crushed. Seniormember officer flight cap has silver and blue

braid. All others wear flight cap with solidblue braid.

From 25 Jan 08 CAP/CC Letter, Change toCAPM 39-1:g. Embroidered Grade Insignia on BDU capfor senior members. Effective 20 November2006, the Air Force authorized the wear of

the ultramarine blue embroidered gradeinsignia centered on the BDU hat by seniormember officers. The grade insignia may beworn immediately and a mandatory weardate of 1 May 2007 was established

successfully completed. Afterrendezvousing with the International SpaceStation, the shuttle crew installed a newmodule (Tranquility) and an observation port(The Cupola).
