Principal’s Report
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews are coming up on Wednesday
26th March and I would like to encourage all parents to take
this opportunity to talk to teachers and discuss student
progress. These meetings are important as this is one way
for parents/guardians to get a clear picture of what is taught
in each class, how work is assessed, what is coming up in
the next term and how we can all work together to make
sure our students are happy and engaged with school.
Booking information will sent home early next week along
with Interim reports.
Xuno information sessions will run on this day for any
families wanting to discuss this system of communication.
School Fete and Raffle
The Parents’ Club is busy with final preparations for our
fete to be held next week (Friday 20th March). Raffle books
were sent home yesterday (one to each family). All tickets sold and money collected are to be
returned by 17th March. If you do not wish to sell tickets, please return the books to the General
Office as soon as possible.
Year 11 student, Connor Leersen, will also be participating in the World’s Greatest Shave. He will
be collecting donations on the day and will do the shave around 5.30pm.
School Council Representatives
Ballots/Voting is still open for the last parent-member category positions of School Council. This
closes on Thursday at 4pm. Please place ballot paper in the box at the General Office, in an
envelope with your family name on the back. Ballot papers were sent home to all families last
Friday.

Triathlon
Well done to all our competitors in the triathlon last Thursday. Thanks must go to Brooke
Chamberlain and Hayden Rowley and their team of helpers who put hours into organising and
setting up this event. There were just over 200 competitors across many schools in our network.
Special mentions to our winning Senior Boys’ Team, and to Ella Lanyon for winning the Senior
Individual Female event.
Swimming
Thanks to Hayden Rowley and Hannah Hogan for organising our competitors who headed to
Bendigo last Friday for the inter-school swimming. Congratulations to all our participants – they
did a great job and were supported by the parents and family members who attended. Special
mention to Bella Quinn who placed 2nd and 3rd in her freestyle and backstroke events.
Schools’ Privacy Policy
The Department released a Privacy Policy last year, which deals with the passing on of student
information to staff and outside agencies. Please log onto the school website and go to the link
under the ‘policies’ section for a full review of the policy.

North Central District Reverse Triathlon
Last Thursday, Boort hosted the NCD Triathlon with 240 competitors from different schools in the district
competing. Boort had 51 students compete, 12 individual competitors and 13 teams of 3 entered. It was
great to see the support of all students cheering and socialising with students from other schools. Overall, our
students were very competitive.
A big thank you to Greg Boyd, Kel Mayberry, Kim Potter, Belinda Perryman, Kelly Hird and Karen Haw,
who gave up their time helping in a range of roles on the day. A special thank you to Jason Lee who offered
his time to be the lead motorbike ensuring safety on the course and keeping track of our lead competitor in
each event. Special thanks to Fiona Cockerell and Kerry Baker from Ambulance Victoria in adding a greater
level of safety at the event. Thank you to all the students/staff who offered assistance in many ways,
especially Macy Grogan, Mr Sims and Miss Hogan for helping set up the night before, the Gateways class
who marshalled on the course, the Unit 1 PE class for setting up shelters and Angus Potter and Will
Perryman for their efforts with packing up. It takes many hours of organisation in the lead up to the event.
Thank you also to the Loddon Shire for signage, Dee Smith and Bella Grogan for coordinating and
lifeguarding the swim leg at the pool and Hayden Rowley, Tom Bleicher, Lee-Anne Sherwell and Adrian
Grogan for their work undertaken on the day. It was wonderful to see parents and grandparents supporting
our students. This is a fantastic event hosted in Boort and the feedback received has been very positive and
the event continues to grow in size.
