Executive Summary
Half Year 2020/21Gordon Moody Data Insights 2
It is my pleasure to share with you our data insights at half year.
During 2020 much of our reporting was around the impact of Covid-19 on our
services. It was a turbulent year, but we have come out of the other end in a
strong place and with the organisation growing. Applications for our services
continue to increase quarter on quarter particularly with regards to women
applying for treatment where we have seen a 132% increase compared to the
same point last year. In November we will run our first pilot of a women's
residential programme. Our data shows that this will be an essential service in
treating women severely affected by gambling harm.
During the past 18 months we have continued to report on the growing
complexity of those applying for our services. This continues to be the case with
76% of our clients having a diagnosis with a mental health issue. Clients suffering
with dual addictions including drugs and alcohol haven fallen slightly from the
spike we saw during the pandemic but still make up a considerable proportion of
our applicants which is why we firmly believe that the treatment of gambling
addiction should be a part of the UK’s Public Health agenda.
As always support from you, our stakeholders, is absolutely crucial in Gordon
Moody being able to grow it’s services and meet the demand of those needing
treatment. If you have any comments, feedback or would like to support Gordon
Moody please do get in touch we look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Matthew
