Dear Brothers, Sisters, and friends:
President’s Message
We enter the month of Feb-ruary with excited anticipation of all the different events that are on our lodge calendar. Feb-ruary may be the shortest month in number of days but we’ve managed to fill quite a few with parties, dinners, cul-ture and heritage events and a couple of meetings.
The Lenten season begins this month and we will kick off our annual series of Friday Fish Dinners on Friday Feb. 21st serving fish, shrimp, steaks and chicken. We’ll con-tinue the dinners each Friday and end in April on Good Friday.
The Bar Committee is throwing a Valen-tine’s Day Party in our lounge on Friday Feb. 14th. No charge to attend. Bring a dish to pass and there will be live music provided by the band Smooth Groovy. In addition, you may recall from the last newsletter that we are throwing a Super Bowl Party on Feb. 2nd starting at 4:00 pm. Stop in as it should be a fun time.
The lodge Culture & Heritage Committee has scheduled something a bit different for Feb., but is rooted deeply in Italian culture. On Wed. Feb. 12th the committee is hosting a evening of opera discussion and singing with Tomas Gonzalez and his son. Modern songs will also be included in the program.
At our January assembly meeting your new council members were nominated. As there were no contested positions for council, dele-gates or arbitration committee, one vote was cast for the slate as presented. They are listed here in this newsletter.
As always, thank you all for your contin-ued support and I hope to see you soon at your Geneva Lodge.
Fraternally,
Tony D.
