MINUTES OF AGM 2013
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
President’s Report:
The report, as published in the 2013 annual report, was presented by the President, Anita Paul.
A presentation on the on the status of the development plans for Melwood playing fields and the clubhouse would be made in general business of this AGM by Gavin Burke.
Anita stated the MWFA AGM would be held on 25th November 2013 and all FKFC current committee were invited to attend and that we would require at least two committee representatives to attend. Anita also declared that the MWFA Budget meeting was set for 11 November 2013 and Ruth Salminen had stated intention to attend on behalf of FKFC.
Discussions centred on the revised competition structure for 2014 where SSG games would cover 8 – 11 age groups and as such are now FIFA compliant and no further changes in SSG administration or structure are anticipated.
The competition structure for MWFA Under 21 and Over 45 age groups had been concluded by MWFA that inade-quate numbers of registered players were available to allow these are groups to form divisions.
The 25 yard rule would be introduced for the Under 12 – Under 16 age groups and possible for the Under10-11 year age groups in season 2014.
MWFA would be introducing further systems and fine regimes would be introduced for failure to complete complaint match cards for season 2014.
There may a possibility that compulsory referees would be required for U18 age group games and coaching certifica-tion compliance program would be rolled out to cover all age groups by 2015.
Treasurer’s Report
Attention was drawn to the Treasurers report as published; this included an annual balance sheet and profit and loss statement and was reviewed by those present. The President repeated comments made by the Auditor which indi-cated a ‘lack of attention to detail’ in maintaining the books and current accounts. However these irregularities in book-keeping did not have a material impact on the reporting of the top line financial numbers. The Auditor had also recommended that recapitulation of cost and revenue item placement for season 2013 should be undertaken.
Matters Arising:
ANZ Bank is now the primary bank for FKFC.
The 2013 season did not incur large capital expenditure items and retained earnings were reported at approx $40,000 resulting from bar takings, canteen and sponsorship.
The budgeted allocation for light usage at $15,000 had not eventuated and only $4000 was expensed against this item in season 2013.
$150,000.00 remains deposited in a six month interest bearing term deposit.
Bank signatories elected and agreed as; Club President, Treasurer and Secretary.
It was moved that the 2013 annual report be adopted.
Proposed Warren Meppem, Seconded Beth Arnott – Motion carried.

Election of Office Bearers
The president thanked all the 2013 Committee members, Sub-committee members and volunteers for their efforts and commitment throughout the year and noted that the club would not function without the dedication and team-work that these contributors represent.
In accordance with the Constitution, the President then declared all committee positions vacant and handed the chair to the returning officer (Warren Meppem) for the election of office bearers. Warren also offered his thanks and commendation to the outgoing committee members for their contribution to the club and thanked life members for their continued dedication to the club.
Nominations were then called for election to the 2014 committee as follows:
The Returning officer offered his congratulations to the newly elected 2014 season committee members and wished them well with their endeavours for the coming year. Matters Arising:
Scott Larsen (elected President) then passed over to outgoing President Anita Paul.
Anita declared it was a difficult decision to step down from the role of President that she has held for the last five years. Anita said that her decision to step down as Club President was related to changing work com-mitments and personal plans and had no other choice but to look for capable hands to leave the club in. Anita stated that in her new role and as a life member she would be available to assist at all times sup-porting Scott through the 2014 season.
Beth Arnott responded by thanking Anita for her great work and endeavours with making FKFC a better club through her time as president.
Scott stated that succession planning at FKFC will be one of his target plans as President and this needs to be recognised and supported by committee and life members. Scott thanked Anita and said it had been privi-lege serving as VP to Anita and thanked her for being a fantastic leader and he would continue to draw on her knowledge and that of life members in his new role.
Scott additionally thanked Beth Arnott for the efforts as VP ladies since 2001 and recognised her achievements for successfully fielding a WPL Team and the great results and enthusiasm that Beth had bought to all the ladies teams at FKFC.
Scott thanked Duncan Kerr for accepting the role of Vice President.
Scott recognised new committee members and especially thanked Giuseppe Guerra for accepting the role as Junior Age Group VP.
Scott recognised that a number of vacant committee roles and sub-committee roles were required to be filled and encouraged life members and committee to seek likely candidates in the lead up to the FKFC Confer-ence set for 6 November 2013.
Scott closed by adding that he recognises the fact that FKFC has a great future and will only grow as a football club. His focus will be towards developing football for all age groups from sub-junior to AL levels and create FKFC as a club that will attract new players and looks forward to advancing the club to a new era of success on and off the field.

PRESIDENTS REPORT 2014
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
To all Members and Friends of Forest Killarney Football Club,
Another season has drawn to a close with the finals behind us, we can again reflect on a great season of
football. 2014 represents our 53rd year of Association Football (MWFA) from the combined clubs of Forest
and Killarney.
Up until the final series, 2014 was a much better season for weather and a good amount of scheduled
games were played. We were disrupted at the end of the year with a long period of wet weather, which
meant finals were moved from Cromer to Narrabeen Sports High and Terry Hills Oval.
We finished the 2014 season with 1052 registered players - approx. 76 more than last year. (Refer to the
Registrar's report for a further break down on numbers). We also have 150 volunteer coaches and par-
ents. This is a fantastic result for the club. The increase in numbers come from the extra junior ladies team
and sub junior numbers but the club would love to see an increase in number in the ladies teams.
2014 saw the installation on new goals on all fields at Melwood Oval. The new box nets on Melwood 1 and
2 look professional and our new Gear Coordinator, Russell Colling should be congratulated on a great job.
The installation on all the new nets would not be possible without the council support.
It was wonderful to see all the coaches and managers wearing the new coach/manager jackets provided
by the club. The jackets look fantastic on a games day and training, as they help present FKFC as a club
which recognizes the hard work of our wonderful volunteers. FKFC has run coach the coach's nights
throughout the year with the support of Brazilian Soccer School. These evenings have been very successful
as we endeavor to develop our coaches’ skills and knowledge.
Brazilian Soccer School has also run skills session for all players throughout the year at no extra cost to
players or parents. These sessions have developed player's skills and have been utilized by all ages within
the club. Feedbacks from coaches and parents have been very positive and saw a marked improvement in
the standard of play at all levels.
As well as skill sessions, the club commenced the first Forest Killarney Development Squad (FKDS). Great
work from Coaching Director, Warwick Andrews and Junior Coordinator, Giuseppe Guerra resulted in the
development of players aged 8-14 from division 1 and 2 squads. FKDS ran every Monday night for 10
weeks and it demonstrated the improvement in each players skills and game awareness.
In 2015, we plan to expand the squad and while Melwood is closed, we will be moving to Narrabeen
Sports Academy.
In 2010, a Five Year Plan for upgrades in Melwood was implemented and has,
1. Installed game quality lights at Melwood
2. Refurbished Lights at Killarney
3. Spectator seating at Melwood

PRESIDENTS REPORT 2014 - continued
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
This year, I'm please to advise that Warringah Council will commence construction synthetic (all weather)
surfaces at Melwood Oval and Melwood Rugby fields. Councils have advised that the first stage of de-
soiling Melwood shall commence in mid- January, with an expected start date for Re- Building synthetic
pitches in Mid-March.
This is exciting news for our club as we will be the premier facility for football in the Northern Beaches.
Forest Killarney Football club along with the generous financial support of the MWFA are contributing fi-
nancially as well as having direct input into planning process.
Without the hard work of families, players and past and current committees, our club would not be in a
financially viable position to support such a major development. Please continue to monitor our website;
www.fkfc.com.au and Facebook page for updates. On a different matter, I would like to recognize contri-
butions from two departing committee members. Gavin Burke and Anita Paul leave us for the land of the
‘long white cloud’ in February 2015. Anita has held various committee positions including President, Regis-
trar and Comp Secretary and her wisdom, and amazing energy will be missed immensely.
Anita is also a life member of FKFC and Gavin Burke is a player, life member, constitutional guru and one
of driving forces behind the clubs redevelopment and move into modern administrative practices. Good
luck both and don't be strangers.
Finally, I would like to thank players, parents, coaches, volunteers, life members, sponsors and fellow
committee members. It has been a privilege to serve all of you as you keep 75+ teams on the park each
week. It's exciting times ahead for our club, and I would like to thank you for your help, support and par-
ticipation in 2014.
Go have a Happy Christmas, Scott Larsen - President
Forest Killarney Football Club.

SECRETARY’S REPORT 2014
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
The 2014 season was very busy and rewarding for all involved with the Forest Killarney Football Club (FKFC). Warringah
Council has confirmed work will commence early 2014 for Melwood 1 and 2 playing fields to be converted to fully synthetic
all-weather playing surfaces, more under the Presidents report for this.
The Clubs Website and Official Facebook site is dedicated to players and FKFC teams and we reached close to 400 genuine
“Likes” throughout the 2014 season. Facebook is proving to be a great broadcast and message facility for members.
Key club sponsors for season 2014 were ANZ Bank, Anytime Fitness, King Computers, Prestige Auto Sales, Team Rhino and
Brazilian Soccer Schools. Michel’s Patisserie in Forestville, The Forestville RSL, Belrose Hotel, Kwik Kopy, Kids Exercise and
Killarney Pool Services maintained their status of long standing supporters and we also secured support from many busi-
nesses who took up individual team sponsorships facilitated by our gear supplier Team Rhino and logo artwork supplier,
Uniform Image.
I would like to appeal to the wider player families associated with FKFC to get involved in helping with the many duties re-
quired to make the club function. With so many young people playing we need more parents involved in the various activi-
ties of our great club. The club is run by a very small group of people and we require more volunteers for 2015 and beyond,
so I would call on players, ex-players,
parents and anybody interested in the
future of Forest Killarney F.C. to give a
few hours of their time to help ensure
the club can operate. We need people
in administration and organisational
roles, ground setup, kit distribution
days, registration days, awards days,
sponsorship management, canteen
and food and beverage services,
coaching and player development and
helping in any way. You do not need
any football background or experi-
ence, just come along and we will find
a position for you. On behalf of the
committee I would like to thank Scott
Larsen, Club President for his dedica-
tion to the club and genuine camara-
derie shown to all involved on the
committee.
I would also like to thank all those
who sponsored teams, gear, junior development and other activities and events in season 2014.
In closing, I wish to thank my fellow committee and all members for their encouragement enthusiasm and dedication to the
club. Congratulations to the winning Forest Killarney FC Teams and we salute all the players who competed in season 2014
and all the parents and coaches and Managers who helped make it happen. We look forward to welcoming everyone back
for Season 2015.
Adrian Sammons, Club Secretary 2014.

TREASURERS REPORT 2014
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
Due to the future development of the Melwood ovals in 2015, it was decided that FKFC would limit
spending funds on improvement to the clubhouse and grounds during the 2014 season.
Instead, we concentrated on improving the professional look of the club. New banners were pur-
chased to advertise club memberships and registration dates. New stand up flags were made to
indicate Melwood 1 and 2. Spray jackets provided to all coaches and managers. All new players
under 6 were given a FKFC football.
The Brazilian School was signed up to help improve football skills to all FKFC teams. The school
provided qualified coaches to assist with training, developing new skills and coaching methods. A
new container was purchased to store equipment with electricity and lighting fitted within. Canteen
and Bar prices remained the same as last year, both giving small profit margin.
$500 payment was made to The Ashley Wren Fundraiser on behalf of the club. Hire of fields was
necessary during initial trials due to council not allowing us to use Melwood Oval. To relieve the
pressure of committee members, Emily was employed to run the bar and Café 2 U to provide coffee.
Majority of funds will be transferred to a term deposit for the off season.
Final invoices have yet to be received from Brazilian Soccer School for training nights and also de-
velopment day. Bottom line figures indicate the balance of account to be at a loss from last year. It
should be noted, however, that some of last season’s payments were carried forward to this year
such as the dinner dance and trophies.

REGISTRARS REPORT 2014
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
In 2014 our numbers soared and the season ended with 1052 registered players across 74 teams.
Over 70 percent of these were players returning from last season. We picked up over 200 brand new
players and 80 percent of these were juniors (U6 to U16).
This year we were encouraged by FNSW to strive for 100 percent of players to use self-registration
via the MyFootballClub website. This meant a completely new approach to our Registration Day
where instead of the club registering the players we encouraged and assisted the players to register
themselves.
Over the course of the season 1095 player registrations have been processed and only one player has
needed to complete paperwork and be registered by the club – a phenomenal achievement! All
coaches, managers and team referees were also self-registered which totalled another 180 registra-
tions. Improvements in the MyFootballClub system have made this a much smoother process for eve-
ryone this year.
With the success of self-registration this year I hope that next year we can replace the traditional
‘Registration Day’ with an ‘Information Day’ for new players and that returning players will register
themselves from the comfort of their homes!
Jenny Cook – FKFC Registrar.

SPONSORSHIP REPORT 2014
FOREST KILLARNEY FOOTBALL CLUB
The 2014 Sponsorship contribution of FKFC was slightly above the previous year at $13600 being sourced from a
total of 20 sponsors. In 2014 we continued with the three year agreement with Team Rhino as official kit and
gear supplier, a three year agreement with ANZ Bank including a Mortgage Introducer Scheme and a three year
agreement with Belrose Hotel as Junior Player Development sponsor. Through the involvement of Team Rhino
the club offers individual Team
sponsorship which includes busi-
ness logo and player names on
shirts. The club received excellent
take up of team sponsors, espe-
cially in the sub-junior age group
with five new sponsors coming
on-board. Brazilian Soccer
Schools came aboard in 2014 as a
Platinum Club Sponsor and spon-
sor of FKFC Junior Development
and we look forward to continu-
ing the relationship into the fu-
ture. Sponsors were represented
during the course of the season
at various club events including
attendance at the Annual Dinner
Dance. A discount card and commission sponsor scheme was fixed with the New Brighton hotel in Manly where
discount team and committee functions have been arranged.
A pre-season sponsorship package to be prepared for season 2015 assisting new sponsorship of individual
teams. We extend a massive thank you to those returning and new sponsors for season 2014 as follows:

Brazilian Soccer Schools
Brazilian Soccer Schools has become a FKFC Platinum Sponsor for the 2014 season. BSS has agreed to assist FKFC in 2014 by providing support for our volunteer coaches during team training and player drills at all age groups and grade levels.
The central aim of Brazilian Soccer Schools is to encourage children to spend longer working with the ball practicing and developing their skills. Everything that we do has this in mind and at BSS training sessions almost all of the time will be spent working with the ball at your feet.
BSS focus upon developing quick feet, close dribbling and passing skills we have found nothing better than Futebol de Salão. Children at BSS spend roughly two-thirds of their time working with the size two Futebol de Salão balls and the remaining third with a conventional ball working on areas such as longer passing, shooting, heading and of course match situations.
Throughout all ages of our coaching the strongest emphasis is put on developing fully the technical skills of every child. Skills from basic to complex are broken down into easily learnable phases for children and then these moves are taught and repeated many times until the children become accomplished at performing these skills first as individuals and then gradually against other children and later in games. Repetition of all skills from passing the ball in a straight line through to some of the amazing juggling skills you see from our children is stressed throughout.
BSS are changing the way that football is played at the highest level, by changing the way that we train children to play the game, however this cannot happen without children spending increased time practicing their skills.
At BSS we also strongly encourage the ethos that it is vitally important for children to become good people before they can become good football players. This might sound slightly grandiose but it is something we take very seriously and into the future we hope that people will take notice of this as much as the fantastic players that the programme is de-veloping.
