Evolution of the GPR Industry
• Used initially to locate and identify geophysical features
• 1980s: growth in the nuclear power industry led to the development of high frequency antennas for concrete inspection
• Today GPR is used across many applications, ranging from forensics to bridge deterioration mapping to border security to searching for live victims in the aftermath of natural disasters

Wide Variety of Applications
6
Key Applications/Markets
• Non-destructive evaluation of concrete structures
• Utility locating and mapping
• Environmental assessment
• Geological, archaeological surveys
• Transportation infrastructure: bridge deck inspection, road structure assessment, rail bed inspection
• Search & Rescue
7
Non-Destructive Evaluation of Concrete Structures
• Clearing areas for cutting and coring
• QA/QC
• Determining engineering characteristics
8
Utility Locating and Mapping
• Real-time locating of underground utilities
• Site investigation
• 3D utility mapping
