QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER SPRING 2017

9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827 916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com

Finally, it has stopped raining. Glory hallelujah! Now we can get those studios organized and start some new and exciting projects. Speaking of projects, you must come by and meet the teachers on Sunday, MARCH 26th. They will be here to show you their latest and greatest. We have some exceptionally talented artists, some of which we inherited from the Elk Grove store. Linda Bergmann, will be doing another New York Beauty, Victoria will be doing her own popular designs and Sue Donbroski will be bringing her ever popular Block of the Month. The people have spoken! Patty Shaw has a new Beginning Embroidery Sample done on a tea towel as well as Quilting 101&102 class along with a Get Organized Bag class. Sue Rourke is teaching a beautiful California Poppy and a Day Lily class. Diana Tatro is doing her ever popular Tuffet once again and Ingrid Cattaneo is doing her fantastic Rooster. There are many great groups open and ready for you to join, make new friends, and share a new skill. There is an “Aussie Group” that does Kathy Doughty down under projects, and a “Wool Group” that does Sue Spargo. There are also groups that do Redwork, an ongoing Thimble Ladies, a Dear Jane Quilt, Kindred Spirits, and Third Saturday Stitchers. Our applique expert and guest artist, PEARL PEREIRA, will be coming from Southern California, APRIL 24 & 25th, to teach her “Bountiful Baskets”. The sample is hanging in the store. It is fantastic! Even if you are not ready to take the class, you must come see it in person. She also loaned us the “Octopus Garden” which is a trip through the undersea world, not to be missed! QUILT RUSH “RED, WHITE and BLUE-TIFUL!” Is April 19-23. Come by and pick up a passport, go to all 12 Northern California shops, pick up a free pattern and six free fabric squares at each store and be eligible to win a prize. Each shop will be open extra hours and we will have goodies to munch on. Bring your friends and make it a weekend event. We are participating in ROW BY ROW once again. The theme this year is On the Go! It launches on June 21st. There will be a sample hanging as well as a pattern and kits available. As most of you already know, we have daily deliveries of unique fabrics, books and notions .One of our specialties is 1800’s reproduction fabrics. Just this week, we received the entire Di Ford collection “BALLY HALL” from Andover. The line reflects the latter half of 18th century England. It is executed in rose and teals and has a stunning border with parrots and a vase of flowers. Of course, we had to have all twenty bolts! Di’s new book from Quiltmania will be coming out soon and there are many gorgeous quilts in it made from this line. We are looking forward to seeing you all soon………………………………..Elaine, Pat, Carol, Pam, Dawn, Diane, Donna, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Diane, Vickie, Jean, Chris, Gerri, Paula and Sue.
