Before you begin, gather all the materials needed and cut out the following pieces: 2 Short pieces 2 Side Panel pieces 1 Waistband Piece 2 Waistband stripes

Step 1 (if not adding a side panel, skip to step 4)
With right sides up, line up a Side Panel with the cut
out on one of the Short pieces, or, if not adding cut
outs, use notch marks.
Step 2
Cut two pieces of bias tape slightly longer than the
length of the Side Panel. Unfold one side of bias
tape, tuck under Side Panel piece lining up the first
fold of bias tape with Side Panel edge. Pin in place
Sew 1/8 in. (3mm) from edge of Side Panel.
Step 3
Fold the pieces of bias tape over and press. (If using
vinyl, be careful not to touch it directly with iron). Pin
in place and sew both 1/8 in. (3 mm) from edge.
Sew other sides 1/8 in. (3 mm) from edge. Press again.
Repeat Steps 1 – 3 for other Short piece.
Step 4
Line up piping to leg opening. Stitch piping to the leg
opening using a piping foot. If needed, make ease
cuts to piping at corners as shown below.

Step 25
Pin and sew crotch together using flat felled seam
(Follow Steps 11 – 13).
Take extra care at edges to be sure piping is lined up
and tucked under.
Turn right side out and voila!
