Our Healing DepartmentOn the second floor of the Unity Build
ing, 918 Tracy Avenue, are our local healing rooms, where, city patients are treated. Mrs. Myrtle Fillmore, Mrs. A. H. Ray, Mrs. Sophia Van Marter, and Mrs. Rudesill have charge of this ministry and will be in attendance daily at certain hours. Call Home Phone, Main 565 3 .
The Society of Silent Unity rooms are on the third floor, where a dozen healers and correspondents minister to absent patients. Here also is the editor’s headquarters and the Unity Correspondence School.
Mr. Charles Fillmore does not now give treatments except through the Society of Silent Unity.
All applications for membership in the Unity Society of Practical Christianity received before Monday, November 29th will receive attention from the Board of Directors at the regular monthly meeting on that date.
Several applications have already been received and the Directors would be very happy to admit a large number at the meeting. By becoming a member, you do not bind yourself in any way, as the Society has no creed. You will co-operate to help a good cause along by joining. Application cards may be found on the Speaker’s table or in the library.
Silent WordCharles Fillmore gave a very clear and
convincing address last Sunday morning on the subject, “Be Not Deceived.”
The congregation joined in silently holding this thought for a few moments just before the address: “I am one withthe Spirit of Truth. I am no longer deluded by thoughts of sense.”

Here is an extract from a letter just received from a dear friend in Georgia which shows a beautiful spirit of love and co-operation and an unlimited faith in God’s abundant supply:
“I am going to help you raise that fifty thousand for your buildings, so you may put me down for five hundred dollars. I haven’t a cent of it now, but I feel sure that in some way I will get it. Gratefully and lovingly, M. E.
The new minister in a Georgia church was delivering his first sermon. The darky janitor was a critical listener from a back corner of the church. The minister’s sermon was eloquent, and his prayers seemed to cover the whole category of human wants.
After the services one of the deacons asked the old darky what he thought of the new minister. “Don’t you think he

WEEKLY UNITY
RESPONSIVE SERVICE
Sunday, November 21Death and life are in the power of the
tongue. He that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his
life.Whoso keepeth his mouth and his
tongue, keepeth his soul from troubles.By thy words thou shalt be justified,
and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
My words are Spirit and they are life.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but
my words shall not pass away.Every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
The lips of the wise shall preserve them.He that refraineth his lips is wise.He that hath a perverse tongue fall-
eth into mischief. He that will love life and see good
days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.
To him that orderetli his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.
The tongue of the wise is health.Delight thyself in the Lord and he
shall give thee the desires of thine heart.Commit thy way unto the Lord.Trust also in him and he shall bring it
to pass. And he shall make thy righteousness
go forth as the lightAnd thy judgment as the noonday.Rest in the Lord and wait patiently
for him.Fret not thyself because of him who
prosperetli in his way.Cease from anger and forsake wrath.Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil
doing. For evil doers be cut off;But those that wait upon the Lord, they
shall inherit the land. The meek shall inherit the land; And shall delight themselves in the
abundance of peace.
The Lord knoweth the days of the perfect;
And their inheritance shall be forever. They hall not be ashamed in the time
of evil; And in the days of famine' they shall
be satisfied.A man’s goings are established in the
Lord; And he delighteth in his way.Though he fall, he shall not be utterly
cast down; For the Lord upholdeth him with his
hand.I have been young, and am now old;Yet have I not seen the righteous for
saken.Nor his seed begging their bread. All the day long he dealeth graciously,
and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.Depart from evil and do good. And dwell forevermore. But the Salvation of the righteous is
of the Lord;He is their strong-hold in the time of
trouble. And the Lord helpeth them, and res-
cueth them;He rescueth them from the wicked and
savetli them,Because they have taken refuge in him.
THE COIN SHOWER.The beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. A. Comstock, 3716 Washington St., was open to the Woman’s Auxiliary Friday evening, November 12th, for the Coin Shower Social which they gave for the purpose of adding to the fund being raised by the Auxiliary for the New Unity Building. The weather was threatening, but a goodly number defied the elements and were present, much to their satisfaction before the evening was half over. Those who stayed away missed a treat long to be remembered by those who were there. Mrs. Comstock is an accomplished pianist, and with her brother-in-law, Mr. Theodore Comstock, an organist of note.
WEEKLY UNITYrendered several selections upon the magnificent grand piano, which were a revelation and an inspiration to all present. Miss E. C. Darling sang in her usual charming manner and proved herself to be all that her name implies. Our dear little Hazel Davis also sang delightfully. Mrs. It. E. Eaton played a beautiful piano solo, and we must not forget our Lowell Fillmore who was in splendid voice and sang several numbers most acceptably. Mr. Carl Gleeser recited in German the poem, “The Lorelei,” Mrs. Croft read it in English, after which Mrs. Comstock played the interpretation by a noted composer. Altogether, the evening was very delightful.
A table was placed near the door for the “Coins” which were “Showered” into the basket prepared for them. The total amount received was $20.50.

It is good to find a lesson in every thing and to profit by that lesson. Mr. Mills has been in the habit of starting his classes exactly on time and closing the doors; after which no one is admitted, and the class is not disturbed. Mr. Mills says he believes a person should be as punctual in attending the class as in catching a train. If a man misses his train because he is one minute late, he can only blame himself. Here is a suggestion that a member of the Unity Society handed in for publication:
Punctuality is one of the Christian virtues. Coming ip to an assemblage after the exercises have commenced, disturbs the concentration of the attendants who were on time. There is a natural order pertaining to every gathering together of people, and in this order tardiness has no part. “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Time and tide set a good example.” The Christ, is never late.
One of the valuable teachings of the Mills lesson is that of punctuality. “The lesson has begun; please do not disturb us,” is a suggestion that differently
phrases the truth that order is heaven’s first law.
The week just ending concludes Mr. Benjamin Fay Mills lectures and classes in Kansas City. He has gone to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he will continue to spread the good news.
We feel that Unity and the Unity work have been blessed in having this good teacher and brother in our midst during the past three weeks and we know that the good work he has done will be far reaching and unending.
Many strangers who previously know nothing of the Unity work have attended the lectures and classes given by Mr. Mills.
To these the Unity Society extends a cordial invitation to come to the regular services as listed in another column of this paper.
The Society would like to have the cooperation of all Truth Students in the good work.
“There is no foolishness about religion in southwestern Missouri,” says a St. Louis man. “I had occasion recently to visit a town in that section, and while waiting the pleasure of the president of the bank I had business with, caught sight of the following notice posted on the door of a church across the way:
“ ‘There will be preaching here next Sunday, Providence permitting, and there will be preaching here whether or no on the Sunday following upon the subject, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned at 11:30 a. m..”—New Thought.
