What is Life Style ?

* Our eating habits, timings for the meals, rest, play,

patterns of social relations, dress, work, exercise,

• social work, entertainment, daily routine, addiction,

together constitute ‘Life–style’. It is the way a person

or a group lives. It reflects an individual's attitudes

and values.

* When we come across with some repeated

health problems, a faulty life-style is indicated.

* It may be too luxurious or hyper active type. The

word lifestyle first used by Alvin Toffler in 1939

* Irregular timings for meals, sleep, rest

* Junk food, fast food consumption

• Irregularity in exercises, frequent changes in planning and working pattern, alienation

* Smoking also reduces the production of EDRF, thus reducing blood flow to the heart.

* Zautra A J: Found aggravation in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) following an increase in interpersonal stress. Women having stronger

Swami Nikhilananda says:

"Hatha yoga makes men live long. Health is one goal of hatha yoga. Sadhak do not fall sick. A hundred years is nothing for him and he is quite young and fresh when he is one hundred and fifty, without one hair turned gray."
