    E-Business (electronic business) is, inits simplest form, the conduct of

    business on the Internet

    E-Business is taken to meanconducting business electronically,

    both within an organisation andexternally, with clients, communitiesand partners.

    e-Business vs. e-Commerce?

    Academic texts are divided in their definitions:

    Some seeing e-Commerce as the overarching concept(e.g. Timmers, 1999)

    And others seeing Commerce narrowly as buying and

    selling electronically (e.g. Kalakota and Robinson, 2001)

    e.g. more generic term than eCommerce e-business refers to notonly buying and selling but also servicing customers and

    collaborating with business partners
