e-Shodhyatra: Emerging Trends & Technologies in Scholarly Communication

23rd November - 4th December 2020 Research is an integral part of academia and is important for the sustained growth of various disciplines leading to the

progress of society. Research is transformed with the explosion of information and the emergence of digital and social

communication platforms. There are several challenges where the researcher has to make hard choices. To reach the required

and precise information it is imperative to identify and adapt to the right resources through the use of appropriate technologies.

There is a need for a different type of skill set required by researchers. To communicate research findings effectively it is crucial

to understand the different aspects of the scholarly publishing lifecycle.

The underlying idea behind conceptualizing this capacity building programme is to provide exposure to the researchers about

the emerging technologies and tools to support research. This programme will help interested researchers to explore the

nuances of publishing and enhancing the communication and impact of research. It would guide the researchers in their

‘Shodhyatra’, to empower and equip them with several choices, so that they choose the right alternative. The programme will

draw expertise from the field of academia, research and industry to offer insights into all the latest topics of relevance,

especially keeping in mind the emerging tools and technologies.
