• Basics of Supply Chain Management BSCM

The basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers are covered in the Basics module. Supply Chain concepts are introduced and standard terminology emphasized, as are relationships among activities in the supply chain. Knowledge of the material in this module is assumed as a prerequisite for the other APICS CPIM modules which cover related topics in greater depth. The training BSCM can also be used as a standalone module. After passing the BSCM module exam you will receive an APICS certificate of recognition

• Master Planning of Resources MPR

The topics of demand management, sales & operations planning and master scheduling are thoroughly examined in this module. Both supply and demand planning for mid-‐to-‐long-‐term independent demand are discussed. Priority planning and capacity planning issues also are addressed

• Detailed Scheduling & Planning DSP

This course focuses on inventory management, material and capacity scheduling and planning, supplier relationships and the influence of Lean/ JIT philosophies in these areas. It explains the use of a material dominated scheduling technique, material requirement planning, in job shop, batch and certain repetitive processes. The course explains capacity planning in detail, introduces other capacity planning techniques such as processor-‐ dominated scheduling in continuous flow processes and reviews project management techniques.

• Execution and Control of Operations ECO The principles, approaches and techniques needed to schedule, control, measure and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations are covered in this module. A broad range of production operations are reviewed including project, batch, line, continuous and remanufacturing environments.

• Strategic Management of Resources SMR In this course participants explore the relationship between strategic planning and the management and execution of operations. The course fosters higher level thinking about how market requirements and social and economic sustainability drive the operations, processes and resource requirements of businesses. The course addresses three main topics: understanding the business environment, developing the operations strategy and implementing the operations strategy. International APICS CPIM Testing Exam delivery APICS CPIM Exams are administered via computer-‐based testing (CBT) through the Pearson Vue network of test centers.Examinations will be delivered in four windows per year. A window is the period of time during which the exams will be available through Pearson Vue. Score report At the end of the exam, candidates will receive a printed score report that includes the candidate’s name, exam title, score, and pass or fail information. If no score report is received prior to leaving the testing center, the candidate should contact Pearson Vue directly. CPIM Certificates Candidates who earn the Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) certificate by obtaining a passing score on the exam (300 or higher), and candidates who have passed all five CPIM exams and have earned a CPIM designation, will receive a printed certificate within four weeks of passing the BSCM or the final CPIM exam. If a duplicate certificate is ordered, a charge of $50 will be assessed. A candidate who requests a name change or who changes their address after the first printed certificate has been issued must order a duplicate certificate and pay the applicable fees before a new printed certificate will be issued. Rescore policy Candidates have 90 days from the day the exam is taken to challenge the result. To request a rescore, they must contact the APICS Certification Department at [email protected]. The rescore fee is USD $45 per exam. Note that the rescoring process only checks to see if the scoring system functioned properly. CPIM Retaking the exams Candidates who fail an APICS CPIM exam must wait 14 days before retaking the same exam. There are no exceptions to this policy. How long are APICS certification exam scores valid towards the APICS CPIM designation? APICS certification exam scores are valid for 10 years from the date the exam is taken.

For example, the exam score from a Basics of Supply Chain Management exam taken on March 18, 2011, will expire on March 18, 2021.

APICS CPIM Maintenance To maintain your hard-‐earned CPIM designation, you must demonstrate that you have participated in a variety of professional development activities. CPIMs must earn 75 professional development points. The certification maintenance program runs in five-‐year intervals, commencing from the date of initial certification and ending on the last day of the month that initial certification was received. If you fail to maintain your certification within 5 years, your credentials are suspended. With each additional year of suspension you will be required to submit more professional development points in order for your certification to be reinstated (15 for APICS CPIM and CSCP; 20 for APICS CFPIM). If you do not maintain within 5 years of having your credentials suspended your certification will be terminated and you will be required to retake the exam(s).
