Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction of Buildings

• As per revised Annexure 7 A,B,C Format circulated in Mar 2016, wherein structural safety features has been suggested to incorporate in concept design and implementation of the project.

• Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction of Buildings as per the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been complied in the State of Himachal Pradesh referring to the codes below:

1. IS 1893:1984 Criteria for Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures

2. IS 1893 (PART-1):2002 Criteria for Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures : Part 1 General provisions and Buildings’

3. IS 4326 :1993 Earthquake Resistant Design and Construction of

Buildings - Code of Practice

Typical Earthquake Resistant Footing Design under PMAY-HFA in Himachal Pradesh

Footing design has been considered for Zone-V throughout the State of HP. Similarly for beams and columns are designed for better structural safety.

Adoption of disaster and Earthquake resistant technologies

• Even as a normal practice in the state, while preparing the building estimates (BOQ) costing of disaster proof features usually has been ensured (in Govt. building/Govt. projects) as per the standards.

• However It is ensured to be taken into consideration the disaster & earthquake resistant technologies at the time of construction of dwelling units under PMAY, HFA (Urban) in Himachal Pradesh and Structural safety features will be ensured.

Other Issues Beneficiary list mapped with SECC data. • The SECC data has been received from NIC Centre, Delhi in the month of Feb 2016

and has been handed over to 6 implementing ULBs. Cross check with beneficiary details has been initiated now by the respective ULBs.

Project completion time for projects under BLC vertical.

• The Project will be completed within the two years time frame.

Status of Demand Survey/ time line for completion of Demand Survey

• The Demand Survey will be completed within two month by the consultants(by May 2016 end) for all the identified project cities. However the process of assessing Housing Demand has been initiated by some of the ULBs as a part of HFA-DPR exercise.

Time line for submission of HFAPoA/ AIP

• The Letter of Award has been given to selected firm M/s Stesalit System Ltd., Salt lake, Sector-V, Kolkata and HFAPoA will be submitted for all towns within three months by end of June 2016.

Readiness of States for Geo-tagging of houses under BLC vertical. • The State is ready for Geo-tagging during different phases of house

construction under Beneficiary led individual Housing Scheme. The process will be initiated as soon as the construction work has been initiated by the beneficiaries after approval.

Status of occupancy position as well as pending UCs in respect of JNNURM and RAY projects • No utilization Certificate is pending for RAY Project

Plan to rehabilitate beneficiaries in 428 constructed DUs lying unoccupied under JNNURM ------- Any other relevant information.
