(2008), an ecological footprint is a measure of the amount of productive land required to support the lifestyle of an

- Individual, a city, region or Country.

• Production and service deliveries make use of land, therefore have some amount footprint.

burning of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, oil etc. that produces carbon dioxide (CO2)

National FootprintMany countries in the world today, are running

ecological deficits, with Footprints larger than their own biological capacity (National footprint network,2016).

In U.S for example, each person uses 4.5 hectare/person.

The average for world-wide is 1.5hectare/person.If everyone were to adopt the lifestyle of U.S, we

would need 3 planets.

• Tidal energy will also be an ideal for footprint reduction.
