Editing Techniques - I will identify scenes in a film and discuss two editing techniques. Trailer – Horrible bosses 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utriEZFno0E Match on match shot - When the male character is walking towards the reception, the cameraman/women does shots of his feet walking and then shoots his facial expressions. The director is trying to convey with the use of the match on match shot because he is a businessman so showing what shoes he is wearing and how he grooms himself gives away a bit of the storyline. So because he is groomed well and he is wearing expensive looking clothes then it indicates he is a hard working character. Eye line match shot – This happens when four males are sitting at a table, one man is sitting on the left side and the other three are on the right side. The camera stays at the same level when switching, this is called eye line match, and also shot reverse shot. This indicates they are having a conversation and they are interested in what each of the other characters are talking about.
