significant contribution to the war effort. Today it is a great

commuter location, and ideally placed for enjoyment of the

new facilities introduced in recent times. Enhancements are

currently being made to the town centre, the pier area and

Riverside Gardens for the pleasure of residents.

Egerton Place is located near the A206 and only about half a

mile from Slade Green railway station, with Erith station some

two miles away. Both are on the Southeastern line, the journey

from Slade Green to London Bridge taking as little as

37 minutes, and to Cannon Street via Greenwich around

Connected and convenient - Egerton Place in Erith offers a choice of stylish new

A fast train service to London, Bluewater within minutes,

schools nearby and some amazing sports and entertainment

venues - Erith ticks more boxes than you might expect.

Discover Egerton Place, and appreciate why Abbey New

Homes are building here. Egerton Place offers a stunning

choice of homes in Erith, a town known for its Thames views,

salt marshes and coastal environment.

In the mid-1800s Erith enjoyed a short spell as a riverside

resort, with day-trippers arriving on Thames pleasure boats,

and in the First World War its manufacturing industry made a

46 minutes (source TFL website). For drivers, the M25 is

minutes away. London City airport is only about 16 miles away

(via the A2) and London Gatwick approximately 38 miles, while

the City of London is about 18 miles away. There are several

bus services in the area.

The schools within about a mile of Egerton Place include Slade

Green Primary, Peareswood Primary, Woodside (secondary +

16-18), Christ Church C of E Primary, Normandy Primary and

Erith School (secondary + 16-18). For health care, there is

Slade Green Medical Centre.

Erith has a curved riverside High Street with listed buildings,

and the town has a Morrison’s, Co-operative Food and other

food stores (a Sainsbury’s lies about three miles away at

Bexleyheath). Branches of Wilko, Greggs and Matalan are to

be found in the town, together with a pizzeria, Chinese and

other eateries. The Riverside Shopping Centre has both well-

known retail names and independent shops.

Next to the shopping centre is a stadium that is home to Bexley

Athletic Club, while Erith Leisure Centre, opened in 2005, offers

a 25 metre pool, full sized football pitch, fitness classes, crèche

and bar. There is another leisure centre in Dartford, about 3.5

Quality entertainment and outdoor recreation choices just minutes away

miles away, as well as other sports amenities including an

Olympic standard judo centre, reputedly one of the most

impressive outside Japan.

For outdoor recreation the choices include Belvedere

Recreation Ground and Belvedere Splash Park, and five miles

away, peaceful Bexley Park Wood.

There are cinemas at Bluewater and Bexleyheath, while

Dartford boasts The Orchard Theatre for a wide range of live

entertainment, The Miskin Theatre and themickjaggercentre,

the latter attracting visitors from far afield. As well as jazz, folk,

roots, guitar and rock performances, the centre holds classical

musical events and is a teaching facility.

Of course, the West End is easily accessible for a night out but

for family days out, North Kent has its own highly-acclaimed

visitor attractions such as The Historic Dockyard at Chatham,

Brands Hatch, castles and coastal resorts.

For two generations, the sales sign in front of our Abbey New Homes developments has become a familiar sight in the South East of England. With many thousands of homes and satisfied customers

to our credit, we continue to offer ‘Beautiful Homes, Attractively Priced’.

As a responsible developer we endeavour to provide information that portrays as accurate a picture as possible of your future home and we would like to point out the following:

Whilst every care is taken to ensure accuracy of all published material, we reserve the right to amend or improve the specification, materials, floor layouts and site plans. Any alteration will be clearly

shown on a separate sales information sheet available in the site sales office. Please note that interior images shown in this particular brochure are indicative only and not taken from Abbey
