Note from the Author This is my first published book. I was 19 years old, had no money or connections into the publishing world in a country where only the friends of well positioned autocrats had things happening for them. I just had a commitment to literature. Bribing an operator at a government press service I managed to get 500 to 800 copies of the booklet printed that latter we distribute between friends and writers. It may seem a very minor thing in this world of fancy books with full display of images and colors; but I assure you it wasn’t easy to accomplish. I offer it here to the readers almost as a historic evidence of our existence as young poets in Cuba that did not want to wait for the permission of the establishment to express ourselves. I include at the end a critical review, published latter in the literary magazine Jácara, by the known Cuban poet Lina de Feria who I consider one of the most authentic and honest voices of today’s Latin-American Literature. Thank you Nota del Autor Este es mi primer libro publicado. Tenía 19 años, ningún dinero y ninguna conexión dentro del mundo editorial oficial al cual solo accedían los amigos de los burócratas. Solo tenía un compromiso con la literatura. Tuve que sobornar a uno de los operadores en una imprenta del gobierno para así imprimir unos 500 a 800 ejemplares que luego distribuimos entre amigos y escritores. Este esfuerzo pudiera parecer ínfimo al lector del mundo acostumbrado a libros bien labrados y a todo color; pero les aseguro no fue fácil lograrlo. Se los ofrezco aquí casi como evidencia histórica de nuestra existencia en el mundo de la poesía joven de la Cuba de esos años. Los que no quisimos esperar por el permiso de la oficialidad para expresarnos. Incluyo al final el comentario crítico, publicado posteriormente en la revista Jácara, de la poeta cubana Lina de Feria a quien considero una de las más auténticas y honestas voces de la literatura latinoamericana de hoy.
