Do we really need to ask it? I mean, basically any type of inorganic waste is directly or indirectly harmful to nature, automatically getting the ‘harmful for humans’ tag for itself. But to be more precise, you can see….. And listen yourself…..
They contain a lot of harmful chemicals, which include……
1. Americium: The radioactive source in smoke alarms. It is known to be cancer-causing.
2. Mercury: a toxic substance which causes Health effects include sensory impairment, dermatitis, memory loss, and muscle weakness. Environmental effects in animals include death and slower growth and development.
