About the College
Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering is a new age, multi-disciplinary institute
offering a portfolio of courses in Engineering, Computer Applications and Management streams.

transformed into a trend setter in professional education since 2002. Sree Narayana Gurukulam
College of Engineering is the dream mission of S.N.D.P Yogam, Kunnathunadu Union, head
quartered at Perumbavoor. The institution was initiated by Sree Narayana Gurukulam Trust, a
registered charitable trust formed by a group of visionaries, with an aim to uphold the ideals of Sree
Narayana Guru (1855-1928), the great sage and social reformer who is considered as the leader of
Indian Renaissance movement. SNGCE offers B.Tech,M.Tech,MBA and MCA programmes.

The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2009 and is now
recognized as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities to match the very
best in the country. Since its inception, the department has proved itself to be outstanding in
imparting quality education in the field of computer applications.
The department remains committed towards its mission, which is twofold. One is to provide
students with the fundamental knowledge and problem solving skills in IT required for a fulfilling
career. The other goal is to create and disseminate knowledge to improve IT research, education
and practice. Apart from emphasizing on consistent and good academic performance, the
department encourages participation in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to bring out
the latent talents in its students.

SAPIENCE’13
SAPIENCE’13 is a two day National Conference on Emerging Trends in Computer Science
and Applications. The conference aims to bring together academicians, researchers,
engineers, IT people, industrialists and students to share and discuss both theoretical and
practical knowledge about innovations in Computer Science and its applications.

Serving as a professional network for individuals who are involved in the science
and technology.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome all the participants for the National Conference,
sapieNCe-13 on “Emerging Trends in Computer Science and Applications”, organized by the
department of Computer Applications, SNGCE during 01-02 February 2013. The topic is
wide and hence I believe the two day conference will provide ample opportunity for
exchange of the ideas among the practicing engineers, academicians, research scholars and
scientists.

I am so pleased to pen a few lines on the successful conduct of the National Conference,
sapieNCe-13 on Emerging Trends in Computer Science and Applications, held during 01-02
February 2013.
In fact, this is the first National Conference organized by the department, which attracted
many scientists and researchers in the field of computer science and applications not only
from Kerala, but also from all over India and abroad.
Producing new knowledge is the order of any reputed college/ University and SNGCE could
proudly find a place in it.
My hearty congratulations to the head of the department and all those who toiled to make
