About the College

S.N.R Sons college is one of among the reputed institution run by S.N.R Sons

Charitable Trust, founded in the year 1970 to fulfill the dreams of Sri S.N.Rangasamy Naidu,

a great philanthropist and a man of vision. This college was started in the year 1987. Since

then the college has achieved far-reaching excellence in the field of higher education. The

college has highly motivated, experienced and dedicated teachers to attain the mission of

the college. UGC recognized our college under the section 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act 1956.

This enables us to get grants from UGC on various heads like major and head minor

research projects, Conferences, Symposia, COSSIP programme etc.

About the Department

This Department was established in the Academic year 2010-2011 with the aim of

providing commerce education with profession accounting to the students. Accounting is

collection, measurement and communication of economic information which is used for

planning, reporting and decision making. Accountants are employed in all areas of

commerce, industry and government.

Educational institutions are compelled to provide quality personnel to meet the

human resource requirements. Keeping this in view the department prepares students

with sound commerce background along with the professional skills to carry out all the

work in different areas of trading and manufacturing organizations. This accounting degree

will prepare the students to practice as an accountant and do professional courses

simultaneously during the 3 years course. They will learn the essential accounting

knowledge and a range of business related skills in information technology, statics,

economics, commercial law and financial management.

Empowerment of students for their all-round development through education is our

motto. Measures initiated by the principal, steps taken by the faculty, Department of

Professional Accounting, the overwhelming response of the author of the article and

enthusiastic participation of the students for the National Level Seminar, all vouch for

Economic development of a Nation depends on its industrial development. The

industrial development is based on the entrepreneurial competencies of the people. Hence, the concept of building entrepreneurship Promotion is need of the hour. The growing interest in the area of entrepreneurship has developed along side in the changing role of small business. Small entrepreneurship has a fabulous potential in a developing country like India. Entrepreneurship has come to be perceived as the engine of economic & social development throughout the world. The crux of this seminar is to examine the power of entrepreneurship in driving towards economic growth of the country.

Today’s knowledge based economy is fertile ground for entrepreneurs, in India. It is

rightly believed that India has an extraordinary talent pool with virtually limitless potential to become entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is important to get committed to creating the right environment to develop successful entrepreneurs. To achieve this, India must focus on the following area.

• Create the Right Environment for Success • Ensure that Entrepreneurs have access to the Right Skill • Ensure that Entrepreneurs have access to “Smart Capital” • Enable Networking and Exchange • Government Support: Both the Central and State Governments should take more

interest in promoting the growth of entrepreneurship. I would like to thank the authors who have enabled to publish such a special issue

with their excellent papers and the reviewers who have devoted voluntarily their time to review these papers. Nothing could take place without an efficient team of workers and their tremendous efforts put forth by the members of the association of Professional Accounting who are young, energetic, and efficient and possess a multi-faceted skill in organizing these type of events. Dr.K. PRINCE PAUL ANTONY

Head of the Department

Has got 13 years of teaching experience and 1 year of industrial experience. He started his career in teaching since June 2001, SNMV College of Arts and Science. He had his graduation from CBM College and pursued his research degree in marketing in SNR Sons College. He had also qualified post graduate diploma in computer application from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. Having interest in management programme, he has completed post graduation diploma in business administration from Bharathiar University. During his tenure in Bishop Ambrose College from 2002 to 2011, he served as Eco Club Cordinator, NSS programme officer and youth Red Cross co-ordinaror by keeping the cadets very active in various social welfare activities.

He was awarded Doctorate in the year 2011. He had been recognized as research guide for M.Phil/ Ph.D research programme under Bharathiar University, Madurai Kamaraj University and Alagappa University. He had produced 8 M.Phil under his guidance and on date 4 candidates had registered for Ph.D under his guidance. He has organized and acted as convener for many national level and state level seminars.

He is having a credit of publishing 3 Q & A scanner books for the students of Bharathiar University with United publishers in papers related to Principal of Accountancy, Financial Accounting and Direct Taxation I

Ms.BINDHU.P.K

Asst. Prof in Commerce (PA)

She cleared her National Eligibility Test in the year 2006. She started her career in teaching in the year June 2007. Prior to her appointment as a faculty in SNR Sons College, she served as a lecturer in Bishop Ambrose College for a period of four years. During that period she served a fine arts Coordinator and was the member of magazine committee. She was the staff co-ordinator of B.Com.(PA) Department in S.N.R Sons College for the year 2012-2013.

On the Academic side she has attended and presented papers in National, and International level seminars. She has published two books in College Q & A Scanner for Bharathiar university students of B.Com. She has served as the member of the Organising Committee of the State level seminar and National level seminar conducted during Last years.

Mr.V. PADMANABHAN

M.Com, M.Phil., MBA, PGDCA, NET

Asst. Prof in Commerce (PA)

He has 9 years of teaching experience which includes 7 years for PG. Previously he was working an Assistant professor in Commerce in Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. His area of specialization is Finance. He has been handling MBA distance classes for Bharathiar University and Annamalai University for past 7 years. He has organized inter collegiate competition held at S.N.R Sons College in the last year. He has submitted his Ph.D and waiting for viva – voce examination. He has successfully completed his National Eligibility Test (NET) during June 2011. He has produced 5 M.Phil. Scholars so far. He has presented 14 papers in National level seminar and 1 paper in international seminar. He has also made publication in 2 ISBN journals. He is the staff coordinator for the department during the Academic year 2013-14.

Mrs.R. GEETHA

She was previously working as Assistant

Professor in CMS College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore. She was Board of Studies Member in Commerce CA Department in CMS College of Science and Commerce for four years. She is having 7 years of teaching experience along with 7 years of industrial experience. Her area of specialization is Marketing. She is handling classes for ICWA Students. She has handled part time MBA Classes for ICFAI students. She is being handling MBA Distance classes conducted by Bharathiar University for past 7years. She is pursuing her PhD. She has successfully completed National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC during December 2010. She has been recognized as Research guide for M.Phil research programme under Bharathiar University and successfully guiding the M.Phil students. She has attended two workshops on research methods and Data analysis SPSS and acted as a moderator in the International seminar Organized by SNR Sons College. She has presented 9 papers in national conference and 5 papers in international conference. She has published 5 articles in the ISBN journals and 1 article in ISSN international journal. She has attended various Faculty Development Programmes.

She has been Fine Arts Co-ordinator and organized many inter collegiate cultural events in CMS College of Science & Commerce. She has organized inter collegiate competitions and been organizing Committee of the National Level Seminar conducted in SNR Sons College.

Mr.M. SUNDAR SAKTHIVEL

M.Com, M.Phil, B.Ed., NET (JRF)

Asst. Prof in Commerce (PA)

He has got 5 years of experience. Previously working as Assistant Professor in Commerce, Department of Commerce with C.A. in SRMVCAS for the past five years from 2008 to 2013. He also had two years industrial experience as Accounts and Advertisement section in charge in Dinamalar Nagercoil during 2005-2007. He has handled part time MBA conducted by Bharathiar University for past 5 years. He also Conducting UGC NET /SET and PG TRB Coaching classes. He successfully completed his NET conducted by UGC in July 2010, and presently pursuing his Ph.D. He has presented papers in 2 International Seminars and 4 National level seminars. He totally participated in 11 Seminars. He trained as a scout master, Completed diploma in Yoga. Board of Studies member in B.Com C.A. department in SRMVCAS during his working period. He is a Member in Human Rights Organisations.
