Pro-Vice Chancellor’s Message

Dr. Anand A. Samuel, BE, MS, PhD.

Pro-Vice Chancellor

The interconnectivity between Mathematics and Engineering is well known. From the

yesteryear practice of engineers gaining expertise in mathematics, now mathematicians have

started gaining expertise in engineering, making the cycle complete. Conferences such as this, being

organized to bring under one roof the mathematicians and the engineers, will give the needed

impetus for the healthy interdisciplinary interactions. In the present era when there is a big talk on

big data analytics, the deliberations of this conference will be of immense help for the participants

in, 1. Understanding the niche topics in the area of computational mathematics, 2. Identifying topics

for future research and 3. Developing effective networks for future collaborations.

The success of this conference is not decided on the final day of the conference; but is dependent

on the effective outcomes emerging out of the active participation from each of the participation

after one year from now. This requires constant interaction, planned follow up, mid course

correction and a final assessment after one year.

I would like to congratulate the Dean of SAS, VIT Chennai, and the organizing secretaries of this

conference for their commendable work in organizing this event.

I wish the conference a grand success!

May God bless!

Dr.Anand A. Samuel Pro-Vice Chancellor

VIT Chennai

Dean’s Message

Mathematics is regarded as the mother of all Sciences. The technological and industrial

advancements witnessed during the last century have clearly shown that Mathematics is not merely

an intellectual pursuit but it forms the backbone of Technology and Industry.

This conference aims to provide an interactive platform to researchers from academia, research

laboratories and industries to share their expertise and knowledge for strengthening research on

applications of Mathematics in Computer Engineering. It also provides an avenue for understanding

and appreciating the importance of Mathematical models and tools that help in solving complex

real-world problems.

I congratulate the organisers of this conference for providing a forum to both young and

experienced researchers from India and abroad to present their work and also to appreciate

current mathematical techniques that can be adopted to solve research issues in Computer

Engineering.

I wish this conference a grand success.
