rooting rural communitiesquito, ecuador

spring 2011award: top 6 in ifla competition

this project focused on creating a more permanent system

of jobs, transportation, and living conditions for poor rural

ecuadorian families. my partner, kelly bergeron, and i worked

on this project as our last undergraduate project. analysis of the chosen site took place to

find a problem that design could solve. finally, a design solution

was created to improve the lives of the people through “urban

boundaries.”

express its own identity fall 2011

this assignment’s goal was to layout a sentence that expresses

the meaning of the words as well as connecting back to the

photo. first i was given the word “point” and i selected a photo that

expressed that word. i was then given a sentence and went through many iterations of the layout, font,

and size to create my final layout.

magazine spread fall 2011

stationery system fall 2011

the first part of the assignment was to design a logo to represent you

as a designer. by using my name, i came up with a form that integrates

the parts to create a whole, much like an architectural project.

the second part of the project challenged me to design a

complete stationary system including resume, cover letter,

envelope, and business card. by using the logo , the stationary

system represents me as a designer through a clean, simple design.
