It was in July 2015 when the first batch of beneficiaries were enrolled in NCST IIRT.

A total of 365 beneficiaries were enrolled in the program within its 1st year of roll out.

A total of 363 beneficiaries were deployed for in-plant training. They were trained with the needed values, knowledge, skills and competence that will enable them to meet the standards and discipline needed for future employment.

A total of 252 or 69% completed the program.

In the implementation of the program, the total cash assistance given to a beneficiary is P15,775.00 to cover his/her living expenses for 3 months of in-school training.

DSWD invested a total of Php 5,757,875 to finance the 365 beneficiaries.

After a year, the 363 deployed beneficiaries earned a gross allowance of Php 28,543,439.92 with a net allowance of Php 22,857,029.14.

Out of the government investment the initial benefit was multiplied almost 4 times, where an average trainee received a net allowance of Php 62,967.02 in1 year.

•Is 18 years old and a resident of Brgy. Sintones Guinayanganin the Province of Quezon.

• He is 4th among 5 siblings. His father is a farmer and his mother is a laundry woman.

• Due to poverty he recognized the need for him to help his family even at his young age.

• Recognizing the need to help support the financial needs of his family, Fidel had to stop from his schooling twice. During those times he had to work as a farmer, a construction and an additional hand in the “koprahan”.

The forged partnership between NCST and DSWD 4A paved the way to open out of the box solutions for Fidel.

Through the efforts of Ms. Conception Estrella, PDO of Guinyangan, Quezon; the LEAP program reached the youth of the Municipality of Guinayangan. This time the opportunity for Fidel to reach his dreams smiled at him once again.

This program provided Fidelwith an equal opportunityto gain access to the kind ofeducation and training theindustry needs as itprovides an actual exposurein the manufacturing workenvironment.

It was during his in-school training that Fidel wasprepared by the school to learn the theoreticalaspect of the manufacturing industry and the neededvalues formation and character building that wouldmake him a valuable team member of his line.

During his 1 year in plant training at EDS Manufacturing Inc. (EMI-YAZAKI), Fidel was exposed to an actual working environment. He learned the need to adjust in a fast paced working environment and how to deal and conduct himself among his peers and leaders. He also learned to adapt to the pressures in meeting production targets.

All of these experiences further molded Fidel’s persona which made him a resilient,

productive, disciplined, resourceful, respectful and committed person with an eye for quality

and excellence!

Fidel is now a part of the growing family of EMIYazaki. Together with his fellow DSWD beneficiaries,he was immediately hired by the company after hefinished his 1-year in-plant training.

Through his training allowance and earnings from EMI, Fidel was

able to help his family in rebuilding their house which was

burned down.

He also paid for the electrical connection of

their house.

He was able to buy a bicycle for his younger

brother which served as a school service for him.

He also assisted his sister for her job application

requirements. Today, her sister is currently working at

Landmark Makati as a part of their sales team.

might have taken some time, but it was able to provide a strong foundation beyond providing employment. LEAP provided the

qualification to all its graduates to rise up, be promoted and gain leadership position in the future.

The program did not only educate and employ the beneficiaries but it has also engrave the right values and virtues to them

which will contribute in the progress of our nation.

Out of the 252 program completers 138 are now gainfully employed with the industry partners of NCST and with the other industries of the beneficiaries choosing. While the others decided to pursue other field of endeavors such as going back to school.
