Graduation is one of the big milestones of your life. Celebrate your accomplishments and remember them with pride. Enchanted Valley proudly presents the graduating Class of 2007 Stephen Cole – son of Steve and Stephanie Cole on Shady Knoll. Stephen graduated from Cy-Fair High School. While attending Cy-Fair, he was a member of the FFA, Cy- Fair Welding and CYP (Cypress Boys). He plans to attend Cy-Fair Community College for one year and then to Navarre Jr. College in Corsiciana, Texas. Also he plans to attend the John Deer Mechanical School at Navarre where is will be a licensed John Deer Mechanic. Congratulations from Mom, Dad, Allie and Michael Lauren Cochran – daughter of Rick and Maria Cochran on Broken Brook Ct. (EVE). Lauren graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Texas at San Antonio (Hook’em Horns). While attending UT, she had a BA in Political Science, was a Member of Phi Mu, Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities, President’s List, and was an intern to Bexas County Judge Nelson Wolff. Lauren has been admitted to The University of Southern California in the fall for a Master’s in Public Administration. Mom, Dad, Jonathan and Natalie are so very proud of you. Best of luck in the future. Jennifer Grein – daughter of Darrell and Laura Grein on Blossomheath (EVE). Graduated from CyFair High School. Jennifer plans to go to Cypress Community College in the fall. She plans on getting her teaching degree. We are very proud of you!!!! Love Mom, Dad, Joshua and Jordan Amie Jeanne Nelson – daughter of Keith and Debbie Nelson on Wallach Drive. Amie graduated from Cy-fair High School. Amie has enjoyed a summer camp in Colorado and a mission trip to Kenya and then plans to attend Cyfair College in the fall. We are so proud of Amie’s beautiful heart and feel blessed that she grew up here in Enchanted Valley with loving family and neighbors close by. Congratulations from Mom, Dad, Michael, Scott and Grandma Millie Croy (Kurtell Lane). Bridges Edwin Simmons – Son of Mark and Carmela Simmons on Moss Creek. Bridges was a member of the Cy-Fair Choir for four years. He was a member of Higher Dimensions, a Christian praise group, and FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During Junior year his Technology project, an oak headboard, received a trophy for “Best In State.” Bridges is an Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 626. He is an active member of Cypress United Methodist Church where he sings with the Unity Praise Team and he has participated in several mission trips. Bridges will attend Cy-Fair College in the fall. He plans to transfer to Texas A & M (Whoop Whoop!) to major in sound engineering. Parents, Mark and Carmela, and sisters, Leela and Claire, are very proud of him and know that his future will be bright. Shannon Skinner – daughter of Jeff and Jan Skinner on Magic River (EVE). Shannon graduated from Cy-Fair High School. While in school Shannon was in FFA/Ag for 3 years, raising a goat and rabbits. She worked @ Cixkiw Lynn’s Fashions & Sccessories for over a year and a half. She was also a member of the Cypress Belles Chapter of National Charity League for 5 years, volunteering for different Philanthropies more than 200 hours. Shannon is a member of Cypress United Methodist Church where she has gone on 2 mission trips to Camp Barnabus in Missouri. She has been an assistant counselor for special needs campers, adults and children. She was in the PALs Program @ Cy-Fair her Senior year, where she was a mentor to students at 3 different elementary schools. Shannon plans to attend Baylor University and major in Marketing/Business (Go Bears!) Congratulations and best of luck, love Mom and Dad. Molly VanHuss – daughter of Lecretia and Barney Van Huss on Moss Creek graduated from Cy-Fair High School on May 27, 2005. Molly has had her whole life planned out for quite a while, but it all stems around her first goal of earning her black belt in Tae Kwon DO. She has been taking Tae Kwon DO (Continued on Page 2)

Since she wants to stick around to finish her Tae KwonDOclasses,shehasdecidedattendCy-FairCollegeforatleastthe first year. She plans to transfer to Sam Houston State University tostudyCriminalJustice,andbythen,she’llbesportingaTaeKwonDOblackbelt.Herultimategoalistoworkonagangtaskforcetoeliminategangsandrehabilitateteengangmembersintoproductivecitizens.Ofcourseanyone,whoknowsMolly,knowsthatsheisanavid reader, and writer. She has volumes of notebooks filled with her ownnovelsandshortstories.Nomatterwhatelseshedoes,wefeelcertainthatonedayherpennamewillbeafavoriteontheBestSellerslist.Mom,Dad,andCoryareveryproudofthedaughter,sister,andyoungladythatyouhavebecome.Besafe,healthy,andhappy. Theweatherthis4thofJulyreallydidnotwanttocooperatewithusthisyear!Itwasdrizzlingandworkeditsselfintoagoodrain,butitdidnotdampenthepatrioticspiritofEnchantedValley. TheParadegotunderway15minutesearlierthenplannedfromTelge Park. Cy-FairVolunteer Fire Department provided us thefire truck from Station 4, and announced the parade with its siren whalin’aswewentdowntheparaderoute.ThenatBlossomheathandEnchantedValleyDrive,BoyScoutTroop658,CharteredbyMessiah Lutheran Church onTelge Road, led the parade on thefinale route down Enchanted Valley Dr. to the Club house carrying theUnitedStatesandTexasFlags.WhatabeautifulsiteseeingtheScouts with the flags and the fire truck behind them. These young menenduredtheweatherandvolunteeredtheir4thofJulymorningtocarrythecolorsforourparade,soI’dliketorecognizesomeofthem.Therewere8scoutswhoarecalledthe“Wingers”andareofthe formal flag detail. They were identified by there maroon berets, whitegloves,andsilkhandkerchiefs;Co-CaptainsScottRay,MorganGuentherandJacobWatson.Therewereseveralmorescoutsfromthesametroop,whojoinedthemdressedinfulluniform.TheyalsobroughtseveralparentsandleadersincludingScoutmasterRodneyGuenther,Assistant Scoutmasters Jeff Hisaw and Brad Gresham.Theseyoungmenreallydidagreatjob!EnchantedValleythanksyou.AlsothankstoTassyGuenther,whowasmycontactpersonandisalsowithTroop658.

July 4th Events / Splash Day

ThankstoalltheBlockCaptainsforspreadingthewordandputtingout flyers explaining the 4th of July events. I would like to thank Jean LodenwhocreatedtheParadeRoutemap,andhelpedwithgraphicson the 4th of July flyers. We had decorated bicycles, cars, trucks, trailers,gocart,golfcart,rollerblades,dogs,wagons,4wheelers,ascooter,JohnDeereTractor,younameit,andIbelievewehadatleastoneofthem.

The winners for best decorated were:MeganClark,KyleTomich,LisaWilliams,HannahHayes,KristenMcPeek & family dog “Ralfie” (Ralfie made the entire parade too!),CalebWells,Aaron&ColinMargolis,DillonAshbough(youshould’veseenthistruck!),Madison&SkylarSmall,JadenO’Bryan,Gene Tips (1940 black Ford), Don Glass, Christina Santaspor,BethanyLyrock,MadysenAbney,Shannon&HarrisonKummer.Iapologizeforanyonewhosenameisnotspelledcorrectly.Theyallreceivedwinnermedalsonared,white&blueribbontheyworearoundtheirnecks,andweregivenasmallgift.Congratulationstoyouall!ThankyoutoallthosewhowereontheParadeCommitteeandhelpedingettingtheParadegoing,withaspecialthankstoDonnyPardue.Alsowantedtothankthefolkswhostoodoutintherainunder umbrellas or whatever they could find to stay dry and cheered onthosewhowereintheparade.

TheraindidnotstopthoseMightyMarlinseitherfromputtingon“SplashDay.”Whiletheywerenotabletodoallthegamestheyhadplanned,theydidagoodjobkeepingeveryoneentertained.ShannonGoadputherartistictalenttoworkmakingpostersignsforallthegamesandeventsscheduledfor thisday. Due to theweatherwewerenotabletousealloftheposters,butshedidafantasticjob!ThanksShannon!Someofthegamesplayedwerethedonuteatingonastring,piñata,watermelonrelay,balloontoss,cakewalk,lotsoftattoos,andyeswediddothewatermelonseedspittincontest! Thanks toAquatic Management & the life guards who alsohostedgamesandgaveoutprizes.Toseethekidshavesmilesandontheirlittlefacesandhavingsomuchfun,anddon’tkidyourselftheadultswerealsosmiling,wassoworthwatching. Hatsoff toAnneGoadandteam,whoreallybroughtlifetothepoolareaandmadeitveryfestiveforJuly4th.Anneworkedveryhardpullingeverything together with the decorating, buying the food and fixins, andgatheringvolunteerstohelpattheClubHouse.ThanksAnne,you did a terrific job! And thanks to all those that volunteered at the ClubHousewiththeMightyMarlinsswimteamforyourhelpandmakingitsuchafunday.Speakingoffood…therewasplentyofsausageonastick,hotdogs,andbrisketplatesbeingserved.ThankstoNormanGoadwhohadwaterdrippingoffhisnoseandsoakedtotheskinfromstandingintherainmanningthepitalldaylong!Normanservedupeveryplatewithasmile:o)Ibetitfeltgoodtogetoffthosefeet!Whatatrooper!ThebrisketsweredonatedandsmokedbyE.V.residents;DanielOgrodowicz,LarryBagley,VernHaynes,andNormanGoad.Normanalsocookedupthosetastybeansbeingservedwiththebrisketplates. Wehadseveralladiesinoursubdivisionwhovolunteeredtobakeforthisevent,andletmetellyouI’veneverseensomanygoodlookin’cupcakes,cakes,cookies,pies,etc.inoneplaceinallmylife.(That’smanyyears!)Notonlydidtheylookgoodtheyweregoodtastin’too.Whenthecakewalkstartedup,somekiddo’shadahardtimebeingabletoparticipate,becausenoonewantedtogiveuptheirspotuntiltheywon!Thankstoyouladiesforyourwonderfulbakedgoods. I would also like to say a special thanks to MarjAndreo, (LilFirecracker)whopreferstostayoutofthelimelight.NotthistimeMarj!MarjhadherhandsonIthinkjustabouteverypartofthiswhole day in some way. Not only did Marj deliver flyers to her block, but to the other blocks we had no representation to ensure thoseresidentsknewwhatwasgoingon.Shedidthisallwhilehavingasickgrandchildatherhouse.Shebroughtdecorationstotheclubhouse,helpedwiththedecorating,updatedthemarquee,andmuchmore.Marjyouareaspecialgal,thanksforallthebehindthescenesyoudoallthetime,notjustforthe4thofJuly.Wedoappreciateyou,yourspirit,andyourfamilysharingyouwithus. There was good food, great company, and lots to smile about.Whatmorecanonewantonthe4thofJuly!Wehadagoodturnoutconsideringtherain.Ireallycannotexpresswhatanintegratepartallthevolunteersplayednomatterwhatyoudid,itmadethisdaysuccessful.IwishedIhadtheroomtonameeachandeveryoneofyou,butyouknowwhoyouare.EnchantedValleyhassomanygoodfolks living here. What a community effort it was! One finale thank yougoestothosewhohelpedcleanupafterallthefestivities.IfIleftanyoneout,pleasenotethatitwasnotintentional.Thereweresomanyhelpfulresidentsandwewereverythankfulforeachandeveryone. TheAmerican Legion Post dedicated it’s new headquarters onwhatmoreappropriatedaythanJuly4th,2007.ThoseinattendanceincludedmanydifferentbranchesofthemilitaryalongwiththeMayorofTomball.Itislocatedinthemiddleoftheantiquedistrictat106BCommerceStreet,Tomball,TX77375.ItisoneblocknorthofMainStreetand1/2blockwestoftherailroadtracks.Itisamodestspaceof900squarefeetandwillberanasa‘VeteransThriftShop’inthefrontandameetinghall/dayroomintherear.BusinesshourswillbeTuesdaythroughSaturday10amto5pm.Donationsofcleanclothing(mustbelaunderedandironed),bric-a-brac,furniture,lamps,pictures,toysetcwillbeacceptedaslongastheyareingoodorder.Wecannotacceptanythingthatistooworn,broken,stained,orun-saleable.Largeitemsmaybeacceptedonacasebycasebasis.Anythingthatdoesn’tsellwillbeauctioned.Ifyouhaveanythingthatyouwouldliketodonate,pleasecontactEVresidentEdRostronat281-373-0115orDaveDurkin,Commanderat281-356-7445. I am proud to announce we have 31 Block Captains that havegraciouslyacceptedthisimportantresponsibility.EnchantedValley,forthoseofyouwhomaynotbefamiliar,hashadBlockCaptainsinthepast,theirroleiscriticalinhelpingthisneighborhoodcommunicate.TheBlockCaptainsroleistohelpcommunicatewhatisneededtotheresidence on their street, ie verbally, flyers, etc. They will notify Tara Weigner,whoisourEventsCoordinator,aswellasourWelcomingCommitteeofanynewresidents.TarahasputaveryniceWelcomepackagetogethertohandouttothenewfamilies.Whenwehaveafamilyinneed,we’dliketoknow,inordertoofferanyhelpthatwecanasneighborsie,bringinginsupper,etc.ThisyearwewillbeaskingforhelpwithgettingthePhoneDirectorythatwehavehearda lot about to a final stage, and in your hands! We are combining the 4separateDeedRestrictionsthatweredevelopedwitheachsectionthatwasbuiltontoEnchantedValleyintooneDeedRestriction.TheBlockCaptainswillhelpcollecttheformsbackfromthosewhohavenotreturnedformsontheirown.ThiswillenableoursubdivisiontorununderonesetofDeedRestrictions. Forthoseofyouwhowereherein1996,youwillrememberwewerewellonourwaytoaccomplishingthis.Ifyouarewonderingwhateverhappenedtothisattempt,theattorneywhowashiredatthetime,droppedtheball,andwemuststartover.

Whilenotmandatory,itwouldbeadventitiousforBlockCaptainstoattendaBoardmeetingonoccasion,nottomentionthemembersoftheBoardareinterestedinknowingwhoourBlockCaptainsare.
