Planning Publicity The event Aſter the event Some ideas are given for tasks which children might take on as part of each secon on the separate guidance sheet. Details of some games that the students might like to run are also given. This acvity involves producing praccal items which can be used in the home to improve the comfort of the occupants and save some energy. The separate guidance sheet details a few acvies, giving full instrucons, which can be run as part of an arts and craſts club and/or sewing and texles club. The acvies given are: Making draught excluding snakes Making thermal curtain linings Making thermal radiator panels Planning and holding a climate related fun day Energy saving arts and crafts ideas 1 2 Any club ART, CRAFT AND TEXTILES Key Stage 3

ENERGY:EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

ACTIVITY SHEET NO1

This activity involves students producing models or small pieces of kit that can generate energy. The aim is to help students to understand how renewable sources can be used to generate energy and some of the technical and design considerations needed to ensure robustness and efficiency of the kit.

The guidance sheet gives details of how to build 3 models.

These are:

A solar oven A solar powered boat A wind turbine

All of these will require some health and safety considerations with regards to the equipment being used.
