The latest report on The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World complements the usual assessment of food security and nutrition with projections of what the world may look like in 2030 if trends of the last decade continue. Projections show that the world is not on track to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030 and, despite some progress, most indicators are also not on track to meet global nutrition targets. The food security and nutritional status of the most vulnerable population groups are likely to deteriorate further due to the health and socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Climate change threatens our ability to ensure global food security, eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from human activity and livestock are a significant driver of climate change, trapping heat in the earth's atmosphere and triggering global warming.

Climate change has both direct and indirect effects on agricultural productivity including changing rainfall patterns, drought, flooding and the geographical redistribution of pests and diseases. The vast amounts of CO₂ absorbed by the oceans cause acidification, influencing the health of our oceans and those whose livelihoods and nutrition depend on them.

AMT – Technology

Diminution of particle size is often an essential method for achieving improved solubility or enhanced biological response of the material. Our base technology (AMT) assumes “top-down” micronization approach with highly dynamic milling conditions.

Such extreme conditions lead to a fast and effective reduction of particle size and increase in surface area which is essential for increased reactivity and biological interactions.

Throughout history, mankind struggled to preserve food and creating food security. Frequently Asked Questions How long does it take to process the food waste? The dehydration process takes from 7 up to a maximum of 24 hours depending on machine size and waste composition. The machine stops automatically when its sensor detects the waste has reached 4-6% moisture content. What can’t go into the Zed Machine? Plastics, metals, medicines, large meat or rib bones, large seafood shells and crustaceans, all of which act as contaminants and may damage the machine. What about green waste? Most green waste is acceptable except large wood cuttings and treated timber. Flowers and other soft plant matter are particularly efficient at reducing in volume. What about contamination such as plastics? The Zed Machine operates at 183.2°F/ 84°C so it doesn’t melt plastics. Some contamination is acceptable but discouraged as it can add to maintenance costs and time to clean out the machine especially if plastics get wrapped around the impeller. What do we do with the dried leftovers? Depending on location, many golf courses use the sterile output mixed with our natural mineral fertilizer, envirolizer saving purchases of organics. If mixed with the soil 10:1 it can be good soil amendment, or it can be placed into general waste (at 90% reduced volume). Depending on the input, if mixed with our natural mineral Zeosen, it will become a food supplement superfood for fish and chicken.
