How to use EPOYour doctor will tell you the exact dose you need and the

duration of the treatment. It is administrated subcutaneously and we recommend that the administration is at the same time each day.

!1.Wash your hands.

!2. About 15 minutes prior to administration, remove the

syringe from the refrigerator for it to warm up. Make sure the liquid is clear and free from particles.

! 3. Remove a needle from the pack, fix it securely on to

the syringe and remove the protective cap from the needle. !

4. Expel air from the syringe and needle. Do this lightly tapping on the upper half of the syringe.Then hold the syringe vertically and the needle upwards, and gently

push the plunger upwards. Keep pushing the plunger until the amount of EPO in the

syringe is as prescribed. !

5. Clean the skin at the injection site using an alcohol wipe. Form a skin fold by pinching the skin between thumb and

forefinger. !

6. Insert the needle into the skin fold with a quick, firm action. Inject the EPO solution.Withdraw the needle and apply pressure over the injection site with a dry, sterile

pad. 7. Finally lay the syringe into the container..

The most suitable places for injection are the front of the thights and the abdomen except for the area around the.navel. It is better to change the injection site every day to avoid the risk of soreness at any one site.
