ESS MSS Implementation/ConfigurationThis question has been Answered.

Hi, We want to implement latest version of ESS MSS (WebDynpro ABAP) which is

compatible to our below given system.

Backend system : EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0

SAP Portal : SAP NetWeaver 7.3 enhancement pack 1 (fresh/newly

installed)

Database : Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 Kindly Provide the Basis & Portal activities to perform in detailed, step by step

process/documents to install/configure ESS MSS (WebDynpro ABAP).

1) 1) What the Components/packages/add-ons (WebDynpro ABAP SCs/Applications)

to deploy into backend ECC system??? How??

2) 2) What are the functional modules/business functions to activate??

3) 3) Which version of Portal ESS MSS business package to import into Portal??

4) 4) Any other Basis & Portal configuration steps(best practices) to implement for

ESS MSS???

Info: I had already establish the connectivity (SSO & system object) between Portal

& ECC system.

I am looking for only Basis & Portal tasks to perform.... Thanks & Regards,

Ans: In ECC system, MSS add-on 1.0 is required.

Download the MSS add-on from service market place.

and upload/import the MSS add-on the ECC system.

Please find the detail process in SDN.


Ans We can get this list from the ESS MSS Functional consultants.

From Basis side: ERP_ENTERPRISESEARCH, HCM_ESS_WDA_1,

HCM_ESS_WDA_2

HCM_ESS_CI_1, HCM_PD_UI_1, HCM_MSS_WDA_1




Ans BP ERP ESSWDA 1.50

BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.61

BP MSS ADDON 1.0

Yo You can download this from Service market place & deploy into Portal from

SUM/JSPM.

few mention below as of my understanding now

I have to gather required ESS MSS roles required for ESS MSS functional

consultant (Developer)

Assign these roles to User

I have to gather required services to activate in the ECC & Portal system.

Start the required services AaAny help in above on required Roles & Services will be appriciated. ReRegards,

Dear NS,

1. You need the components like BPERPESS 1.50 , SAP_ESS 633, PCUI_GP 633 to be deployed on

Portal 7.30 , Please check the following link

2. For the Business Function to activate, you need to consult your Functional Consultant, based on

their requirements, you can activate the switches in SFW5 txn.

3. I have mentioned the version in first part.

4. Please check the link above, Also please check the note 1603059, It has various documentation.
