HOW DOES MY MEDIA

PRODUCT REPRESENT

PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

TAIBA MEHMOOD

QUESTION 2

FINAL PIECES OF MY MEDIA PRODUCT

SUB CULTURE• IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PERSONS ATTIRE, AND WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO DO

IN THEIR EVERY DAY LIFESTYLE

• FOR MY MAGAZINE I WOULD SAY THAT THE SUB CULTURE WOULD BE OF ‘TYPICAL TEENAGE GIRLS’

• THEIR LIFESTYLE WOULD BE BASED AROUND THEIR FAVOURITE CELEBRITIES AND THEY WOULD ASPIRE TO BE JUST LIKE THEM, DRESS LIKE THEM, TALK LIKE THEM AND FOLLOW THE SAME DIET AS THEM JUST SO THEY CAN FEEL AS GLAMOROUS.

• THESE SORT OF GIRLS WOULD BE IN THEIR SECONDARY SCHOOL STAGE, AS THESE GIRLS TEND TO BE MORE CELEBRITY INVOLVED.

THIS SORT OF AUDIENCE ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN POP MUSIC AND DUE TO THEIR LIFESTYLE, TEEN POP IS ONE OF A MANY POPULAR GENRE WITHIN THIS SUB CULTURE. THIS IS ALSO THE SUB GENRE I CHOSE TO DO FOR MY MAGAZINE.

AREAS OF SOCIETY• THE AREAS OF SOCIETY I WILL BE FOCUSING ON ARE OF PEOPLE WHO ENJOY ACTIVITIES LIKE THE PICTURES SHOW

BELOW:

Want to know the latest gossip for all famous celebrity singers

Like to spend their time on Facebook, Twitter etc.

Like to listen to music especially teenage pop and bands such as, One Direction

Latest celebrity trends

The fact that she is seen to be wearing converse, attracts young teenage girls, as converse are a popular brand of shoes.

Typical topics that a teenage girl would talk about ‘Justin Bieber’ a well known singer in this genre (Teen Pop)

Race/Ethnicity Gender/Age Social class Disability

My magazine focuses on all races. The magazine that I used as influence (we love pop) also focuses on all types of races, therefore I thought that for my media product I would do the same

It is clear to see that my magazine is focusing on young teenage girls between the ages of 13-15 years old. This is shown through the use of colours, and the main image on the front cover.

The magazine doesn’t really have a particular social class. It is targeted to those who can afford it, the prices of general pop magazines tend to be of a reasonable amount, so many young people are able to buy it if they wish to do so.

I didn’t really deal with disability in my magazine. However any opportunities given in the magazine, there would be no hesitation or any form of difficulty in for why they could not take that opportunity, this way they do not feel indifferent from the other individuals, respecting their way of life.
