Why Offer Peru

“A world of contrasts, with endless deserts, fertile valleys, majestic volcanoes, deep canyons, majestic snow-capped

Andes, the immeasurable altiplano, lakes and lagoons, the deep Amazon, colonial cities, countless archaeological

remains, its ethnic and living culture, and vibrant, indigenous society ... happy and hospitable people.”.

An exotic, Spanish-speaking country, not overcrowded, with a rich natural beauty, and with its ancient cultures it is one of South America’s most attractive destinations and one of the most important in the world.

It is the holiday destination for everyone, groups or individuals, ideal for honeymoon couples, or families travelling with children. Great to combine business and leisure travel. An excellent proposal for incentive trips, events and conferences.

A safe and peaceful country, Peru has experienced a reduction in crime following pacification, together with an improvement in the Peruvian economy, one of the highest increases in South America in 2012, obtaining 5.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), making it an affordable country with a favorable exchange rate.

Extensive, unspoilt natural beauty, a diverse climate, one of the countries with the most varied scenery and biodiversity on the planet (it has 84 of the 106 ecosystems on earth); with spectacular scenery where the desert, eternal snow-capped mountains and the Amazon jungle stand out. Many of its attractions remain undiscovered, but this is not the case of the recent discovery of Gocta Waterfall with a 771 meter drop, the third highest waterfall in the world.

With more than one hundred thousand archaeological sites, it has a extraordinary historical legacy spanning over 5,000 years, from Caral, or from Chavín over 3,000 years up to the present day, through the Nazca, Paracas, Mochica and Chimu, the Inca periods and other equally important ones, such as Chachapoyas or Sechin, etc….. A place where different peoples converge, and where new and interesting discoveries continue to be made.

Ethnic cultures that preserve ancestral customs, the two languages Quechua and Aymara, including more than 40 Amazon dialects. Myths, legends, mysteries and colorful markets.

It offers the visitor the mixture of Inca and Spanish Baroque, as a result of its rich mix of cultures that is projected in art, architecture, culture, religious harmony and surprising social diversity. It has Baroque cities, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Lima, Cuzco, Arequipa, and not forgetting the beauty of Trujillo and Cajamarca among its towns with a colonial heritage.

Peru is a paradise when about it comes to adventure sports such as trekking, climbing, rafting, paragliding, and surfing, (it has the biggest left wave in the world in Chicama), rallies and other sports. It is also ideal for specialized tourism, gastronomic tours, birdwatching, sport fishing, scuba diving, routes for volcanologists, etc.

With an excellent service infrastructure and a growing development of its tourism infrastructure, also of note is the growth of national hotel chains and an impressive public transport fleet.

It has a wide range of flights connecting with the world’s major cities, including 22 flight departures with LAN, IBERIA and AIR EUROPE, not counting 5 flights via Paris and 7 via Amsterdam with KLM, or via Sao Paolo with TAM, with Avianca via Bogota, among other connections.

It is an ideal destination to propose for travel packages or " Multi-Destination" trips as direct flights from Lima provide a link to the north of Chile, La Paz in Bolivia, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands or Iguazu and Easter Island, as well as the Caribbean from Cartagena and Caracas, and even connect with Brazil (through the new Inter-Oceanic Highway)

Great food for all tastes and budgets. According to “The Economist“ its gastronomy is considered to be among the 11 best cuisines in the world, its recipes have crossed borders, and its restaurants are trendy.

Major Attractions CAPITAL LIMA

Lima was founded in 1535, its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, offers spectacular examples of baroque architecture. An endless source of culture, it has a wide range of museums and archaeological monuments in the city and its nearby beaches. It also offers a range of restaurants and welcoming places, where you will able to try delicious cuisine resulting from the mix of European, Asian and Andean cuisines.

COLONIAL CITIES CUSCO

After being considered the center and sacred city during the Incas’ Empire, it became a symbol of cultural ethnicity, as much architectural as cultural, between the Incas and the Spanish in the colonial era. The earthquake of 1650 turned it into ruins and a city was reborn with prominent development of typical cusqueño art as much in architecture, as in the woodcarving and painting. All this history has made it one of South America’s touristic centers forming the gateway to many interesting attractions. , Among those which stand out are without a doubt the citadel of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. AREQUIPA Surrounded by the desert and mountains, it is a beautiful city of convents, churches and colonial houses, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Only 3 hours from the impressive Colca Valley you will find beautiful landscapes surrounded by terraces, mountains and volcanoes, llamas, alpacas, vicunas, vizcachas and the Colca River. TRUJILLO Known as the "city of eternal spring" for its privileged climate and festive atmosphere, it has countless archaeological attractions including Chan Chan, the largest mud city in the Americas and ancient Chimu capital, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The city also has splendid Colonial architecture notably the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, La Compañía church, the monastery El Carmen and colonial houses. CAJAMARCA A historic native city with enormous charm. On the white façades of the two-story buildings the wooden balconies and the typical tiled rooves stand out, and some colonial houses maintain their enormous flint doorways. Its streets are narrow and steep. In the center of its main square, religiously protected by the cathedral and the church of San Francisco, remains a stone fountain dating back to the 17th century. But Cajamarca is, above all, a historical city, whose name is closely linked to two personalities who marked the end of the Inca Empire, Francisco Pizarro and Atahualpa, the last king of Tahuantinsuyo.

ARCHAEOLOGY AND NATURE CARAL The Sacred City of Caral, which has changed Peruvian history and the world, is becoming a major destination for archaeology lovers. The city was built 5,000 years ago, in the same era as the Sumerian cities of Mesopotamia, the Saqqara pyramid in Egypt, the India markets and the first cities in China. HUARAZ Strategic location to get close to the ruins of Chavin, cradle of the Peruvian civilization and starting point for a wonderful tour of traditional Andean towns, transparent lakes, stunning snow-capped peaks and important archaeological monuments as far as the Huascaran National Park, among whose attractions are glaciers, lakes and water fountains, with different routes within the Cordillera Blanca. It was declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. CHICLAYO "City of Friendship", and a few kilometers from the sea, it is the place where important pre-Hispanic cultures were developed such as Mochica and Lambayeque, whose remains found at different times and in different circumstances, continue to surprise the world and whose legacy is reflected in the interesting, modern museum of the Royal Tombs of Lord of Sipan. IT IS COMBINED WITH TRUJILLO AND HUARAZ. KUELAP Discovered in 1843, 60 years before the citadel of Machu Picchu; it is the jewel millennial Peruvian archaeology, built by the Chachapoyas, a fierce people who for years resisted the Incas. Located at the top of rocky cliffs and guarded by a giant defensive wall, its interior Kuelap houses circular compartments with decorative friezes. In the area also visit also the third highest waterfall in the world, the GOCTA WATERFALLS.

ICA A long tradition associated with the desert and agriculture surrounds the city of Ica, capital of the province of the same name. The strong winds that raise clouds of sand, locally called Paracas, have formed unique sandy dunes and the famous plains of Ica, jealously guarding the mysteries of ancient regional cultures, whose vestiges can be seen in its interesting regional museum. Despite water scarcity, residents have been successful with agricultural development. PARACAS 42 km from Ica is the Paracas National Reserve, 335,000 hectares that is not only a natural paradise of rich and varied wildlife, but also an important archaeological site in which there are traces of the ancient Paracas culture dating from 700 BC to 400 AD, a town of great weavers whose mantles of various colors are true works of art. NAZCA 142 km from the city of Ica lies Nazca city that keeps its ancestors’ secrets, great master potters and authors of the huge and impressive network of lines and drawings that extend over the plains, consisting of more than 70 gigantic figures and 10,000 lines set in the land, which have been declared Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.

MACHU PICCHU AND THE SACRED VALLEY The enigmatic complex of Machu Picchu, the most important and beautiful legacy of the ancient Peruvians is the Historical Sanctuary part of the same name, which is one of the few places in America declared a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. A unique place in the world, set on top of a mountain that dominates the deep canyon of the Urubamba River in the tropical forest, it was both a center of worship and astronomical observation and private family homestead of the Inca Pachacutec. The Sacred Valley, is home to an extensive set of archaeological remains that articulate one of the most traveled Cusco circuits and extends through the Urubamba valley. Among them is the fortress of Pisac with its solid granite blocks, and the SALINAS DE MARAS, MORAY AGRICULTURAL LABORATORY, and the beautiful terraces, fortress and the OlLLANTAYTAMBO Inca town with its temples for worshipping water and the sun built in colossal rocks moved to the top of the mountain on which it stands. LAKE TITICACA The highest navigable lake in the world and one of Earth’s wonders, it contains numerous islands whose inhabitants, the Uros, descendants of one of the oldest towns in America, have preserved ancient customs and traditions. They live on "floating islands" artificially made with totora, and navigate through the area in their traditional boats also made of totora reed. At the shores lake the city of Puno in Peru and in Bolivia Huatajata, collect samples of the Tiwanaku culture, the highest expression of the Aymara people.

JUNGLE PUERTO MALDONADO

The province of Madre de Dios, known as "the capital of biodiversity", offers one of the best ways to enjoy the Peruvian Amazon. Its proximity to Cuzco and the most renowned protected areas such as the Tambopata National Reserve and Candamo make the jungles of Puerto Maldonado a natural paradise. This exceptional region remains one of the world's virgin forests and it can be visited from several camps located at the shores of the rivers Tambopata and Madre de Dios. One of the most interesting points is the tour to the Collpa de Guacamayos, a place where these birds come seeking salty minerals providing a natural show full of magic and color. IQUITOS Immersed in the Amazon region of Peru seen from the air, it stretches like an immense green mantle whose boundaries are endless, and is connected with the world only by air and via the Amazon River. Apparently distant, this city whose splendor lasted until the last quarter of the 19th century with the rubber boom is, together with its surroundings, one of the region’s most important tourist attractions.

Our Sociocultural Commitment

PERÚ HCT: SOCIAL ACTION As part of our social support to different NGO foundations, which aims to promote improvements in living conditions, nutrition and child health, especially for new born babies, infants and young children, it is also possible to arrange a visit to and possible collaboration with organizations such as SOS Peruvian Children’s´ Villages. Some of its activities include working to improve child nutrition, and providing educational support through establishing new libraries or donating school materials and / or improving educational s facilities or rural schools. PERÚ HCT: “RAICES” CULTURAL CENTER The program or itinerary includes a visit on behalf of your company to “Raices” Cultural Center, belonging to Peru HCT to visit exhibitions that have been arranged by our socio-cultural cooperation division, where little-known artists, producing high quality work, but who have never had the opportunity to show their art, exhibit. Similarly, our group customers, will enjoy a small performance of Andean music, as an introduction for the ”Pisco tour” (Pisco sour is a cocktail and Peru’s national drink), and also you will receive a multimedia CD with photos of places visited and “surprise photos” of participants. PERÚ HCT: FAIR TRADE Delivery of souvenirs: Local ceramic crafts (Chulucanas Art). Our contribution enables more income to artisans in order to avoid intermediaries and thus the reduction of a fair income. Our mission is to pay a fair price, also recognizing the quality of work and the workforce employed. A direct payment to producers and artisans, also special credit counseling for inputs, machinery and equipment. The technique of current artisans is based on the experience of ancient ancestral cultures. Chulucanas differ in their excellent finishing and colors which are not as strong as others, totally different from ceramics made in different regions of this mystical country. Moreover, due to the type of craftwork that is made, a limited number of exclusive pieces of work are produced. PERÚ HCT: ” DELICIOUS PERU, VERY TASTY” Peruvian cuisine, according to a survey by “The Economist”, is one of the 11 most important cuisines in the world” because almost everything is delicious, varied, original, and authentic”. Therefore, our organization takes special care with the selection of restaurants, as well as markets, so that you can enjoy Peruvian food which has crossed borders, is of international renown and is certainly one of the attractions of this trip.

Homestay Tourism

The rich cultural diversity of Peru is based on the history, tradition and present of their communities; which occupied much of the country and complement and add special value to its tourist attractions. For visitors interested in meeting and interacting with other cultures, visiting native communities will become their main motivation for travel, coupled with the opportunity for a closer appreciation of artistic craftsmanship and the challenge of being a reference point for responsibility in the conservation of our cultural and natural heritage. Our responsibility with these communities is not based on preserving a culture just for observation or just as a product, what we seek is to promote and foster their inclusion and participation in the process of globalization, making tourism a source of income, as well as a conservation tool for history and nature. Over a decade ago Perú HCT-Huaraz Tours S.R.L, began working with the Amantani and Takile communities, and later with the Llachon community in Capachica, among others, supporting their projects for what is now called sustainable tourism, namely, using their homes for accommodation, promoting their local handicrafts cooperatives, etc. All this makes your visit to Lake Titicaca a very special, unique experience. With this experience six years ago we started to support the community of Humacchuco in the Cordillera Blanca in a tourism project called "Huáscar Wandy', by creating new programs and working on logistics and infrastructure for the development of its tourist activities, as well as its educational, agricultural and health requirements among others. Always in harmony with the environment and as the face of sustainable tourism, we have now expanded our proposals and offer this type of journey in the community of Chinchero, near Cuzco, in the community of Queros close to the rainforests of Manu, and the area of the Colca Canyon.

PERU, a choice for incentive travel

“One of the most comprehensive destinations on the planet offering all the key elements for an incentive trip”.

In addition to this it offers an excellent hotel infrastructure, boats, trains and vehicles, not forgetting specialized guides and its cuisine, considered one of the best in the world.

Innovative proposals that make a difference

What do we sell? In this complex activity, what we sell to our customers are ILLUSIONS, therefore our responsibility is to convert these illusions into reality.

Our way of travel We are constantly developing alternatives – from when our customers arrive, during visits, meals, and other options - with the intention that your passengers’ experience is entirely positive and satisfactory. This creativity makes our product stand out from others in the market; our product allows customers to gain a better understanding of the sites and areas visited and have the opportunity to get to know some of the lesser-known areas that are of high interest, but remains competitively priced.

Safe country: following pacification Peru has experienced a reduction in crime levels, together with an improvement in the Peruvian economy, making it an affordable country.

Vast expanses of nature in its purest state and diverse climates. Peru is a country with some of the most varied biodiversity and landscapes on the planet (it has 84 of the 106 land-based ecosystems).

With more than 100,000 archeological sites, it has an extraordinary historical legacy stretching more than 5,000 years, from Caral, or from Chavin with 3,000 B.C. to the present day, passing by Nazca, Paracas, Mochica and Chimu, Inca and other no less important as a Chachapoyas or Sechin.

Product Designed in such a way so as to cover all concerns and needs of any client, these programs are flexible and can be complemented by any extension in order to provide a tailor made program. For programs such as birdwatching, homestay tourism, alternative and adventure programs, amongst others, as well as incentive programs, river cruises through the Amazon and Pacaya Samiria and combinations with neighboring countries, quotations can be provided upon request. HOW WE OPERATE IN THE DESTINATION? • Generally a minimum of 2 people, but we can also quote for individuals. • Daily departures in direct flights by IB, UX, LAN, AF, KL, etc. • Some programs are FIXED GROUP DEPARTURES with a TOUR GUIDE. • Internal flights with regular airlines by reputable, international prestigious companies, LAN, STAR,

PERUVIAN AIRLINES and LC BUSRE. • Hotels inspected by us, covering all categories and encompassed in the different circuits in First and Top

Tourist categories. • We work with an expert, professional team that knows each region, and also guarantees a quality service

and a rapid solution for any problems that may arise at the destination, always giving you the best support.

ITINERARIES The programming of itineraries take into account very important technical aspects such as: • Size of the country: It is three times the size of Spain, and circuits have been diversified taking into

account the most relevant destinations that the country offers. • Traveler availability: adapted to what the market demands (according to statics for a Spanish traveler

profile for a long-haul destination, an average travel period is 12 days to 2 weeks). • Travel Motivation: Proposals cover the traveler’s main expectations: Archaeological-Ecological-Ethnic, etc. • Acclimatization: This is essential, visits are scheduled in gradual ascent, from the lowest and progressing

to the highest. Taking into account the geography of the country, there are going to be destinations from 20 m.a.s.l. to 3,820 m.a.s.l. and we will pass routes over 4,000 m.a.s.l.

• Sequence: It is important that the development of the route matches the level of the trip´s expectation (it

is very different to start our journey in Cuzco-Peru, as this will result in a lower expectation than in other destinations).

• Extensions: We have taken special care with the end of the itinerary to allow the best and most suitable

extensions options. • The programs are versatile and the possibility exists to add or remove services. The quotes developed in

our system are broken down service by service, making this an important booking tool , whether it is a journey programmed for an individual , or group, or one of our specialized trips .

INTERNAL FLIGHTS The Internal Flights are not included in our quotes and there are two ways of booking them: 1) Directly with Lan Airlines, flying the international leg with them or Iberia offer COMPETITIVE PRICES in

the form of an “add on” ( maximum two flights OW ) or even better, if you make 3 flights “South America Air Pass“ coupons can be used.

2) Through us, you can get preferential prices. These prices are neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but allow some flexibility and are not issued immediately.

We need to point out that once the reservations have been made, these prices CAN IMPROVE, as long as there are spaces in classes where offers apply. OPERATIONAL UPDATES We have already incorporated changes to operations following investigation work that have been operational for the last few seasons. These are: TRANSFER FROM COLCA CAYON (Chivay) TO PUNO, THE WALKING TOUR IN CUZCO CITY, A DIFFERENT EXCURSION FROM THE SACRED VALLEY (including the town and market of Chincheros, the salt mines of Maras, the Inca agricultural laboratory of Moray); ANY ONE OF OUR ITINERARIES WILL ENABLE CUSTOMERS TO VISIT MACHU PICCHU EARLY (the early rays of the sun illuminating the citadel), no mass tourism, without adding journey days, or paying a second entrance fee to the site. In Paracas and Ica; programs include a visit to the NATIONAL RESERVE OF PARACAS (TERRESTRIAL SITES) AND A TRIP BY “BOGGY” OR SANDBOARD ACROSS THE DUNES OF THE HUACAHINA OASIS, as well as a boat trip around the Islands Ballestas and visits to the Inca city. All of this is a significant difference in the programs. Conclusion: Although our products incorporate new, and greater, more complete content with more attractions, these proposals are favorably priced, without impacting on spending money, and result in days saved to see more of the country.

We reiterate our commitment, investing in our programs’ CREATIVE and innovative content, without forgetting special care in the quality of the services and the right

selection of infrastructures in order to make our products stand out from the classic product, providing our clients with lasting memories and experiences.
